Kadara rolled her eyes. Evan always picked the best times to be too confident to listen to her. She stood up her full height, looking down her nose at him. "I said... That all that secrecy and subterfuge we go through to make sure no one infiltrates the guild has been completely laid to waste. Someone tried to get to you by kidnapping me." She looked over at he shoulder at the ranger and said, "At least one big, strong man was there to protect me," she said with obvious amusement.

Badger fought the urge to snort at her words. The woman didn't need protection, she needed a bucketload of common sense. Or a giant dose of morality. Either would do really. Or both. That'd help out a lot, especially since he didn't want to have to save her all the time.
He drew back at the thought, wondering why he was even having it. He wouldn't be saving her all the time because he wouldn't be there to do it. He was leaving as soon as he got the information he needed.

"Do you remember, Kadara? I can't afford to get relationships with a assassin. For that exact reason!" Evan said, yelling the last sentence.
Then he grinned to take the bite out of it. "You must remember, Kadara, two things. First: We are in the presence of a foreigner. Be careful how much you say. Second: I only know a few assassins, and only two,Him and Loren, I have a relationship with. We'll guard you and the others as best we can, but it might not be enough." Evan finished his speech and sat down.

Kadara rolled her eyes. As usual, Evan was only hearing what he wanted to hear. It irked her, but not enough for her to put a dagger in his throat... yet. "I don't need guards. What we need to do is figure out who's leaking information about the guild" she said, waiting for him to throw the plan back in her face and suggest it again in his own words.

Badger didn't show a single expression of interest, though his mind was realing with possibilites. If there was a leak within the Guild, would whoever it be agree to give him information, which in turn he'd give to the Ranger's Corps? The possibility was intruging, but who was it? He'd have to find out soon if he didn't want Hatchet breathing down his neck in the next few days.
[And you said I could know who the traitor is right? Not Badger, but me as in Theramind.]

[Attack against Bagder!]
Evan, without any warning, lunged foward with his saber at the Ranger. "Help!" He yelled at Kadara, as his saber clipped the Ranger's cloak, shearing off a patch of skin and ensuing a flow of blood to trickle out of the wound.
Evan pulled out his throwing knife and stood in his attack position, Saber level with Badgers head, knife trained at Badgers torso, one foot infront of the other, rocking back and forth.

Kadara frowned at Badger. She took a deep breath and stepped back, leaning against a tree. She hated when he did things like this, especially without telling her or giving her any indication that he was going to. "I think I'll just stand over here and watch. You go ahead though. Attack one of the few people that we can count on as an ally right now." She actually wasn't sure if they could trust the ranger at all, but he was certainly more useful alive than he was dead. Though she'd never admit it, she hoped that the ranger killed Evan. She had never liked him and hated the way he ran the guild. He was too confident and disorganized. It's why things like this happened.

Badger moved as Evan lunged toward him, his reflexes honed from years of experience. He lunged toward the side, ignored the scrape across his back, and twisted again to face the assassin leader, right hand grabbing the arm with the knife even as his left hand shot out to wrap its fingers around the other. He twisted as he jerked the man toward him, effectively flipping him over his shoulder to land hard on the ground. Within the last fractions of the second it took him to do so, he wrapped both legs around Evan's right arm and twisted to the left hard enough to snap bone.
He released him immediately after and jumped back. He hadn't meant to actually harm him, but his years of being on the run had taught him to attack first, question later. Still, hardly doubting that Evan was the kind to forgive easily, he kept on the balls of his feet, turned to face both him and Kadara.

Evan stood up again, glaring at the Ranger. Evan lunged and his saber caught Badger's arm and cut it again there, but Evan wasn't done. He sheathed the saber , and leaned forward.
He did two front flips, both his legs clipping Badger's already injured leg with considerable force. The leg bone snapped, as injured as Evan's arm. The assassin had been using the tactics he knew to keep the pain at bay. Evan pulled out his saber as he waited for Badger to turn around.

Kadara stood at the edge of the clearing, twirling a dagger in one hand. The other lay across her stomach where she didn't have to pay attention to it. She sighed, rolling her eyes. She smiled as a thought entered her head. The two of them probably would have gotten along if Evan had talked to the ranger a little before deciding that he didn't deserve to live. They were similar. They both knew their way around a weapon and they both liked to ruin her fun.

Badger sighed inwardly as the assassin came at him yet again. He moved in time to avoid the force of the blow, though it still ended up scraping across his side. It wasn't deep and he figured one of them had to put an end to it, so as he finished his spin around to Evan's backside, he dropped to the ground and grabbed a handful of dirt and came back up blowing it in the man's face. Without the slightest hesitation, he took of running back into the shadows. He thought briefly of Kadara's safety then figured she could handle herself well enough - especially if she came from the Guild who's leader seemed a little uh...young to be polite.
Within seconds he was lost within the shadows.

Kadara rolled her eyes. "Well done," she said to Evan. "You've once again succeeded in chasing off my new friend." She spoke jokingly, but her words had a certain sting to them. She pushed away from the tree, returning her dagger to its hidden arm sheathe and standing beside Evan. "All this paranoia's gonna get you killed someday, you know?" she said, gently elbowing him in the side. She watched as Badger disappeared into the forest. They would meet again.

"One day. That day will not be soon." Evan said in response. "I do have a talent for scaring people. How else would I have got these?" Evan asked, pulling a vial of glass out of his pocket.
Inside it was Oak-leaves of most colors. "One gold, 7 silver, 20 bronze. That is a lot of time killing Rangers, eh?" Evan chuckled. "Anyway Kadara, I will be off! Oh, and be expecting Loren. He wants to see you"
And with that last word, The guild leader Evan Malcolm ran from a spot which could be apocalyptic to his Guild. Maybe.

Kadara watched Evan leave, rolling her eyes and heaving a sigh. She hated Loren almost as much as she hated Evan. The man did nothing but suck up to Evan and abuse his position with everyone else. It would be a most unpleasant visit. She hoped, at the very least, that Evan wouldn't forget about the people that were after them.
With that final thought, she started out of the forest, back towards town. She was tired and felt that she had earned a few hours rest.
((shall this end here or will Badger make a reappearance?))
