...I was looking through the member list and I noticed that Aya, your graphics manager/overlord, hadn't been on in a while.
Okay, I'm not trying to steal her job or anything, but i would LOVE to give my assistance in that department. I personally love coding and could help make the site look more polished.
Of course, I'd be testing it out on my own site (my site, meaning one my friend gave up on and so gave it to me for my own personal use) and you can give me input.
It would be similar to this:
sonseastory.proboards.com/index.cgi
Adjustments can be made as nessesary. So, just post your thoughts here and uh...we'll see!

Your site looks nice.
A little bit hard to read for those of us with eyesight problems, but other than that nice. Like the photo of the city. Was it one you took?
It is up to Tandar about bringing you on for graphics. I don't have a problem with it as long as the look of this site doesn't change much from what it is now and you keep the print size large and contrast the colors with the background colors so it is easy to read.
But that is Tandar's call o all that stuff. (You will just hear me grumble a lot of I can't read something! Grin! Right Tandar? heh heh heh)

Thanks. :] And no. The city was just something I found while browsing. Pretty, right?
Anyway, of, course I understand that. And don't worry, the font size shouldn't be a problem. The categories may be a bit small but the current ones are also. When you post in a thread it'll be just as large as it always is.
And you're right. The one I showed you guys is a big change from what you've been used to. So I simplified it. If the rest of the site wants it, we can gradually move into a more complex layout. :]

Hey, you know what? That's what this thread is for. I don't know what you guys want. So I threw something together to give you an idea. Heh. :]
I need help.

I like the blue trees in the bg for the tables, but I don't like the plain color in the actual bg bg. I do like the colors though; huge fan of dark blue. ;D Plus, combined with the white = To4. ;D. Against the huge banner though; is there any way you can cut it down or something? Oh, and please nothing too complex. Shucks, Tandar changed 'Chat Box' to 'Chatter' and it took me a while to figure out they were the same thing.....

Maybe I'm a more avid RPer than the others on here, but I've seen sites like that last one before and personally I really like it. I'm fine with what we have, too, but that one is nice. Actually, the city one was pretty good too, but I, like MRI, love dark blue.

I concur; Dark blue is awesome. I think that is a little to dark in the color. Hurts my eyes.

Well the first skin is currently in use. I just wanted to show you an optional layout. It's a bit more sleek.
Mri, the banner isn't a problem. I can totally cut it down. And I TOTALLY agree on the backgound. I hate it. But I wanted to throw something together so I could give you the basic idea.
And I can play around with the colors too. Anything too light will throw off the balance but anything too dark will overpower it. So you have to be careful.
So I'm getting the feeling we want the second layout, the first one is too much of a change. And I'm guessing we want to stick with the dark blue scheme?
This is all assuming Tandar is cool with it all.

I like dark colors though. Too light and it hurts my eyes. I had to take a few days to adjust to this skin (the one with J's banner at the top - Midnight Crusade)

If the blue in the second one too dark for you? Ev sais it was. So maybe I'll just make it a shade lighter or so.

I don't care much, but I like the current one. Looks nice. But, I do hate change. It'll take me a while before I get used to any major change.

Well, you can always pick your skin. I used Aya's Skin while just about everyone else used Norgate, but the red doesn't match the green, so I had to change it to this one. I liked that one better though, but *shrug* I got used to this one.
And nope, the blue wasn't too dark, for me anyway.

Aha, well honestly, it's not that different. The board is just resized and instead of one huge picture as a background, it's being bordered by sidebars. This way your eye travels down with the board instead of trying to focus on a full-scale image. And there are many other little things you can do in order to polish it up a bit. Such as getting ride of the silly on/off buttons. Or the computer icons in the info center box. Oh, I hope you know that I'm not trying to bash on the site in any way. I just know that a nice layout can influence some people's decision on whether or whether not they join. People like things that look pretty. And if all else fails. I could always just slightly alter the current one. No trouble at all. Less work for me in the long run actually. :] unexamen.proboards.com/index.cgi?

What are the on-off buttons? O.o? Matter of fact, where?
