Angel was ammused when he kissed her hand and let it shine in her eyes as she took her seat, folding her hands neatly in her lap.
"If you go on board, be careful up there. The footing is treacherous and the deck is tilted, so it is hard to navigate. You can stay here with the skif if you want to."
She laughed before replying with a grin, "And let you guys steal some coffee? I don't think so." Besides, she wanted her weapons back. Or at least some of them, not doubting that a majority of them were carved in the bottom of the ocean by now. Though hardly defenseless without them, she doubted it was the average dressmaker's knowledge how to kill someone with only laying a finger upon them. A knife would be more suitable, less suspicious, and handy should she need to free herself from thorns or any other of nature's entrapments.

Malphorius frowned at the girl's approach. He knew his time in this conversation was over. People had a way of shutting him out of conversations even if they seemed to be talking to him. It was very disrespectful and it irked him quite a bit. However, he that getting angry would do him no good, so he kept quiet and listened until they both went off to the boat to get coffee beans. His stomach rumbled. He could have used some sustenance as well.
He ignored the feeling and went off into the woods, deciding that a peaceful walk would calm his nerves. Once he got far enough away from the beach, all he could hear were the birds chirping in the trees. It was very relaxing.

"Ok." Rick shrugged. "Just be careful up there."
The sailors tied the skif off to the ship and scampered up the rope Rick had left hanging over the side the day before. He climbed up after them and waited to see if Angel needed any help.
After they were all on board, he led them down to the galley and began searching for the barrell of coffee. As he did so, he directed the sailors to carry other food items back up to the deck. They found some dried beef and pork as well as a huge amount of bacon strips in one of the cold cellars. They wresteled the whole chest shaped cellar up the stairs and across the deck.
Rick moved some crates of some rather limp vegetables and found the barrell of coffee under them. He pulled it upright and popped the lid off to make sure. The aroma of coffee wafted out and he inhaled deeply. "Aaaahhhh! Here it is!" He smiled and put the lid back on. Then he and the two sailors wrestled the barrel up to the deck and down into the skif. They loaded the rest of the supplies in.
Rick looked around and noticed there was still an awful lot of stuff on the deck they could use. "I bet there are still some hammocks in what is left of the crew quarters down below."
One of the sailors answered, "I was down there yesterday, most of it is underwater, but yeah, there are some hammocks down there."
"Well, I am going to let Malphorius deal with that. Right now I want coffee!" He turned to Angel, "Ready?"

Angel didn't really need any help making her way up to the ship, but she held out her hand anyways and smiled sweetly after him, all thoughts of being stranded on an island gone...for the moment. No doubt she'd remind herself of it later.
She righted her skirts again as soon as she was on deck and then followed them down to the galley. She couldn't help but take a deep inhale as they entered, trying to sniff out that scent of coffee. Her mouth watered when she caught it.
She stood back while the men wrestled the chest up the stairs and onto the deck. She was stronger than many thought, but figured this time she'd be more trouble than actual help with her cursed skirts and so kept back. She followed them though, after all, they carried that faint scent of coffee. A scent that quickly strengthened when Rick opened one of the crates. She swallowed to keep herself from grabbing it as they lowered it over the side and into their skiff. She desperately wanted that coffee.
"I bet there are still some hammocks in what is left of the crew quarters down below."
"I was down there yesterday, most of it is underwater, but yeah, there are some hammocks down there."
But such was the bane of her existance. Work. She started to offer to go down and fetch some since she hadn't really done anything, when Rick spoke once again.
"Well, I am going to let Malphorius deal with that. Right now I want coffee! Ready?"
Some might have had the strength to resist his offer, but though she could take down a man more than twice her size with ease, she wasn't that strong. A bright smile lit her face as she said, "Oh am I ready."
With all the enthusiasm of an addict, she climbed down into the skiff.

Rick and the sailors wrestled the barrel and then the cold cellar chest over to the fire area. By then a lot of people were up and moving around. Rick got some of them to finish unloading the rest of the boat with the food they found.
There was a serving girl that volunteered to cook and Rick let the women take control of food and coffee. He went back over to Malphorius and appologized sheepishly for bailing on him so suddenly. His mouth watered as the coffee brewed and sent the aroma all over the beach.

Rick lingered over his cup of coffee, savoring it. Man, was he tired. He had hoped the coffee would rejuvinate him, but now that he was sitting still leaning up against a tree trunk, he found he could hardly keep his eyes open.
But he had a job to do and so he forced his eyes open and got to his feet. Where was Malphorius? Rick looked around and didn't see him.
He saw Rip and walked over to him, "Malphorius wondered if you wouldn't mind scouting out the island with me?" Rick looked around and said a bit louder, "actually maybe some others want to help scout the island out too."
He was hoping a couple people would volunteer. If they got enough, he was going to send one group to walk the perimeter, or at least as far as they could get in half a day. He had no idea how big this island was.
He inspected his bow and arrows and shook his head, frowning at their condition. "pretty much ruined." he muttered under his breath. Actually there was only a slight warp in the bow and most of the arrow were fine, though the fletches were pretty messed up. He was just used to having them in pristine condition and didn't like it that they had gotten wet. He strung the bow and slung the quiver over his back.
"I am heading out in 3 minutes, for anyone who wants to come." Rick announced, looking around.

Angel started to volunteer, then remembered that she'd forgotten to search for knives on the ship. She cursed herself and then the coffee for distracting her, then took back the curse on the coffee. Her luck, it'd actually get cursed and boy did she love coffee.
She bit her lower lip in thought. She didn't really need the knives and if she did, she could always just go back and search for some tomorrow...And she did want to check out the island. Besides, if she did that, she might be able to get Rick to accompany her again - for safety purposes only of course. Decision made, she went ahead and volunteered with a smile, along with quite a few others. She betted it was more because they were curious than anything else, but hey, volunteers were volunteers. She wondered briefly what group she'd be put in, then decided it didn't 'really' matter since she'd be scouting the whole thing out for herself eventually. Hey, girl had trusting issues. Maybe Rick would escort her through that too - for purely safety reasons of course. Who knew what kind of dangers this island had?

Rick sorted out the volunteers and sent three one direction along the beach and three the other direction along the beach. That left him, Rip and Angel to take the interior.
"You don't mind climbing around in the woods, do you?" Rick asked Angel, a grin playing around his lips.

"Not if you're there to catch me should I fall," she grinned right back at him. A cheesy line, she was truthful enough to admit to herself, but didn't really care. She liked his spirit. Besides, his was just as cheesy.

Rick chuckled to keep from groaning. "Certainly, My Lady. I will do my best!" He bowed to her with a flourish. He straightened up and grew serious, "Seriously though, it is not going to be a picnic as I am sure you found out yesterday. Why don't we start by you showing us where that spring is." He was all business now, his attraction to her pushed aside for the moment.
"I am curious to know if that would be a good place to build some permanent shelters, or if we can find a better spot." He glanced at Rip to see if he was ready. "I don't know about you, but I think it would be nicer to be living a bit closer to the water source so we don't have as far to carry it."
He waited for Angel to lead the way to the spring. His weapons close to hand should they run into trouble. "Either of you see where Malphorius went?" he asked casually as they entered the woods.

"Seriously though, it is not going to be a picnic as I am sure you found out yesterday. Why don't we start by you showing us where that spring is."
She arched a perfect eyebrow in amusement, but didn't comment, instead bunching one side of her skirt and tying it into a knot so she wouldn't trip over it as she trekked through the woods.
"I don't know about you, but I think it would be nicer to be living a bit closer to the water source so we don't have as far to carry it."
Neither did she comment then for Ladies didn't answer questions that weren't directed at them. She did bite back a smile at the thought of having drawn that same conclusion yesterday. Malphorious had refused though since he already built the fire, but now that Rick had garnered the same idea, she wondered if he'd change his mind. Figuring she'd find out when they got back, she lead them into the shade of the trees.
[okay, now we have to wait for Tandar since you included him in our group. Why'd you have to go and do that? lol. *grin* JK.]

Darcy had just regained consciousness. He was underneath something but couldn't identify it. He climbed out from under it. His stomach grumbled. He didn't know how long he had been here.[OOC: He has suffered from a concussion. And he's under one of the quarters beneath the boat's deck.[Idea taken from Theramind.]] "Help!" He started screaming,"What happened?" All he remembered was him being on a boat, then nothing... The words came out as a croak, he was too parched for words to come out properly. His words were indistinct but understandable. Then he fell. Despite being unconscious for so long, he was still tired. No, he felt faint. He wouldn't survive without food or water much longer. He was too weak to swim to the shore.

Barry was tugging a crate full of something heavy (he had no idea what) up out of the damaged hold of the Sweet Maiden when he thought he heard something. He stopped to listen.
"Help!" There, he heard it again. He followed the sounds into a badly damaged cabin and found a guy in fairly bad shape.
"Hey, let me help you." He hauled the guy up and slung him over his shoulders in a fireman's carry and took him back up to the deck.
A couple other sailors up there helped to lower the man into the small boat and they rowed him back to shore. "Someone go find the doc!" Barry hollared as he carried the guy up by the fire and someone handed him a coconut shell full of water.
"You okay, fella?" Barry asked Darcy. "What's your name?"

[Thanks, I knew I saw it but I must have missed it.]
"Thanks." Darcy gasped. "I'm Darcy Borral, Battleschool apprentice." He took huge gulps of water. "Got any food?" He asked, manners forgotten. He was too hungry to care about them anyway. He looked around. "Where am I, anyway?" He was curious about this place. "And who's on this island? What happened ?" His curious nature made him ask the questions, they came out like a tirade tumbling out from his mouth. In a very short time, he finished the whole cup(bowl?) of water.

Barry gave the kid[He was, after all a Battleschool apprentice and from what he knew of them, they were not to be underestimated.] the teen some food and more water. "Whoa, slow down man!" He said. "We have no idea where we are but its some kind of island. We met a storm well into the journey. The ship was beached in this island..." Barry started explaining everything that had happened in this few days. He also named the people he knew, or at least remembered. He grinned as the boy drained his second cup of water and finished the food. "Still thirsty?" He asked.
