Okay, so couple of "main Charies" that turned out to be "Not so much" charies. Please be gentle--as in, try to keep them within their given personalities. Otherwise....go for it, I guess.

Name: Catalina Rosetta Castellano Age: 19, 20 (she sometimes lies about her age and says that she's 16) Gender: Female Profession: Sometime stowaway, sometimes a sailor or cabinboy
Appearance: Catalina Rose is the epitome of the saying, "Appearances can be deceiving". She's slim of build, belying her strength. To some, she appears smaller than her actual 5'2 size (The two inches were scraped up during her last growing spurt). Her Iberion heritage is revealed in her curly, raven black hair-- which flows to halfway down her back-- her tan, dusky honey-colored skin, and clear, amber-brown eyes.
When she is wearing clothes that actually fit her, she is unmistakably a young woman, and a very pretty one at that, but when wearing baggy clothes and short hair, she appears to most to be a young lad. She likes colorful clothing, especially clothes that fit her, having a preference for boy's clothes because, whoever heard of a stowaway/ sailor wearing a dress? Besides, she has no need for a dress at the momnet... and boy's clothes make for an excelent disguise. Although she hasn't worn a dress in almost 10 years, she would look more than pretty if she wore one now.
At the moment, she is wearing brown, loose-fitting canvas pants, a cream-colored, full long-sleeved shirt, a dark red vest, and a wide, forest green silk sash on her waist. Thrust into her sash, she has a sharp dagger and a small pouch of money. She rarely wears shoes or boots on-board a ship, prefering to go barefoot instead, but on land she wears ankle-high, soft leather boots.
Personality: She is independent, with a stuborn streak that can be a mile wide at times. She's also very determined, and when she sets out to do something, she usually succeeds. She doesn't like being snuck up on, especially from behind.
For the most part, she doesn't trust men (although women aren't much better off), particularly sailors, as she believes that most men have an ulterior motive for being nice to her. If any man who knows she's a woman suggests bedding down together, he will at the very least get slapped. At the most... well, that one of the uses for that dagger. She will not hesitate to defend her honor, virtue, and/or her loyal friends.
She is loyal to those she trusts and is quick to trust her instincts. She's a daring young lady who will try almost anything at least once. She doesn't like being crowded, and won't hesitate to claw your eyes out if she feels that she's in danger.
She's very dependable and rates honesty and honor very highly, and dislikes people who lie, deal treacherously with others, and underhandedness. She takes people's words at face value: if you brag that you can tame a tiger, you had better be able to back up that brag-- she will, without a doubt in her mind of your capabilities, expect it of you. And if you can't do it, her opinion of you will be very black indeed: you aren't a man (or a woman) of your word.
She likes traveling to other countries, and picks up quickly on different languages. She loves to sail, and just can't get enough of it. She knows her way about a ship, and even knows how to repair some parts of them, like the sails. She has a good head for hights, and knows how to avoid being seen, trapped, and/or caught. She knows quite a bit of trivia and information tidbits on different countries, merchanting, and market prices, especially. She also has a good light tenor singing voice, and can tell tales that will entertain almost anyone, as well as dance.
History: Catalina Rose was born to a moderately wealthy family in Iberion. She was an only child, and was adored by her parents, both of whom were merchants. Early on, she proved to be a very bright and precocious young girl and was taught the family business-- when she wasn't being educated as the young lady that she would eventually grow up to be.
There were few things that her parents loved and treasured more than their only daughter, but one of them was money. At times she was ignored entirely by her parents, while they worked to bring more gold and silver into their personal coffers.
During these times, Catalina would go down to the docks and watch the ships coming and going from the harbor, wishing that she could work up the courage to board one and sail off into the sunset as well. Or, if her uncles's ship was in at the harbor, she would go to see him, and be cheered and inspired by the stories he told her.
Her uncle was her favorite grown-up, for he always made time for her, even when he couldn't afford it. She was 10 at the time, when she learned of her uncle's death. His ship was sunk in a storm, just off the coast and a day's sail out from the harbor, taking with her all on board, including her uncle.
Since her uncle had often delivered her parents goods, this gave the coffers of her parents a blow, as they now had to hire someone to do the work which her uncle had done for free. But they hardly morned for his death, unlike Caty, who locked herself up in her room for a week.
Even though she knew most sailors didn't know how to swim and that most were killed either by drowning or while fighting pirates, the call of the sea still run thick in her blood. But she still refused to give in to it, mostly out of loyalty to her parents and partily because she didn't have the motivation.
But one day, shortly before turning 12, she overheard a conversation between her parents and a wealthy baron named Javier that provided the catalyst that she needed to gain the courage to board a ship and leave. The conversation centered around her, and money.
The Baron Javier had lost his wife three years ago, and just recently had begun looking for another to carry on his family line (his wife had died in childbirth to their first; the baby did not survive either). Catalina had caught his eye and he had searched out her parents in order to question them. Was she betrothed? her parents answered No. Would they be willing to give him their daughter's hand in marrirage? Of course there would be a more than substantial copensation to her parents.... The amount he named did it for her parents. They said Yes, of course!
The marriage was arranged to happen at the end of the month, and once the details were discussed to the grown- ups' satisfaction, the Baron left. Catalina, having heard enough, went up to her room and locked the door. She had seen the Baron in passing. She had never liked him, particularly since she knew that he had beaten his previous wife almost daily. Her uncle had seen the treatment of the Baron's wife when he'd gone up to the Baron's palace to let him know that his cargo was waiting in the harbor. He must have been farsighted indeed, for he told Caty of the episode. Nor had he ever carried cargo for the Baron again.
That night, she unlocked the door of her room-- to allay her parents' suspishions-- and slipped out her bedroom window. She traded her fine clothes for boy's clothes of more durable and less fancy quality and make, then went down to the harbor and stowed away aboard one of the out-bound ships.
Once this ship reached it's destination, she jumped ship and stowed away aboard another. At this point she was discovered by the ships' cook, a kind old man who agreed to keep her secret, and let her borrow a knife to cut her hair short with. She was signed on as cabinboy for the remained of the journey, and when she left the ship, the cook made a gift to her of his own dagger.
Since this time, she has travelled to many different countries, sometimes as a stowaway, other times as a shipmate. She usually travels incognito, or under the name "Cat".
Additional Information: She has a parrot named "Tiger", who she has taught to talk. The colorful bird is very intellegent and can speak four different langauges, whistle, crack nuts, carry messages, and pose as an attack bird. He is very good at discerning friends from enemies, and Caty has learned to make use of this skill.
(I might marry her off to Sklaw. Don't know for sure yet.)

Name: Ryan Carmentas Age: 23-24 Gender: Male Profession: former Knight Errant, now the Captain of the Araluan Guard Appearance:
5'11; 205lbs.-- all of it muscle; short, thick, curly brown hair; dark brown eyes; nose that was broken once; medium tan skin; face and hands have an assortment of scars. He prefers plain, serviceable clothes that are sturdy and not easily torn, and that usually come in tans and browns. He may look clumsy and slow, but don't let that fool you. He moves like a big cat and is ferocious-- and possibly even deadly-- in a fight. He's not overly handsome, but he's not exactly ugly-looking, either.
Personality:
Just because he's a knight, doesn't mean he's stupid. He's actually very smart, and is an excellent tactician, and strategist. He's usually calm and level-headed in tense situations, but can get short-tempered, especially when being needled by someone like Fisk. Is well disciplined.
History:
Was born the Eighth son of a baron, who wanted him to become a scribe when he grew up. Ryan had other ideas, though, and at 15, left home to become the squire of a Sir George, who was a knight errant. When Ryan turned 19, Sir George knighted Ryan saying that he had taught him all he could. They rode together for a year, until Sir George died when his horse fell on him. Ryan then rode alone.
He went back home once to see his family. His Father, once he saw that his son had become a knight after all, forgave him for leaving, But when Ryan told him that he intended to continue riding as a knight errant, his father disowned him again.
Shortly after-wards, Ryan was staying in a town for the night, and happened upon Fisk, in all his troubles. Since hanging someone because they couldn't pay an exorbitant amount of money for a fine went against Ryan's morals, he offered to pay the fine if Fisk agreed to be his squire. Fisk agreed, and that was how Ryan found himself stuck with scheming, annoying, young Fisk.
The two of them had plenty of adventures, and more then their fair share of troubles, rain, and dust, while drifting aimlessly around Araluan.
It was shortly after they had unraveled the plot against Fisk's brother-in-law that their drifting days came to an end, when they refused to enter a certain Barons service as a reward. That Baron convinced the King to form a new branch in Araluan's military, and to appoint (order) Ryan as the commander (Captain of the Araluan Guard) of it.
Additional Information:
He is actually quiet good with a sword. He is efficient in the use of a dagger, and has been learning quiet a bit of rough-and-tumble from Fisk. Fisk is perhaps the only person who can irritate Ryan, just by being in the same room for three minutes or less.
