Crowley was asleep within minutes of his head hitting the pillow. Subconciously he was aware of the nighttime prowlings of his roomates, just as he would be aware of any sudden changes in the room and would be able to wake instantly with his Saxe knife in hand. But on this night there was no need for vigilence on his part. His sleepless companions were handling that. He took advantage of the fact he wasn't in his office dealing with the day to day operations of the Ranger Corps and assisting the Royal family as problems arose. For a change he was able to sleep peacefully through the night.
He woke early, fully refreshed and in a good mood, his stomach rumbling with hunger. He got up and changed out of his rumpled clothing from the day before, noting that this was his last clean change of clothes. He also knew that he was going to have to head back to Araluen Castle soon. There was only so long that he would be able to absent himself before things started to deteriote and that it would only make more trouble for him once he returned.
He sighed heavily, missing the good old days when he had just earned his silver leaf and been assigned his first fife. The world had changed so much since then. Everything was faster now.
Noticing that Badger was still standing at the window unmoving, Crowley studied him while dressing. He didn't like it when his rangers were as seriously troubled as Badger. This situation needed to be resolved. Somehow they were going to need to turn the tables on this villain chasing Badger. Make him become the rabbit while Badger played the wolf.
Crowley poked the sleeping Rab in the ribs, gently, but still hard enough to wake him up. "Going to sleep all day?" He chuckled, knowing full well Rab had been up pretty much the whole night. But they should get on the road soon. No sense in tempting fate by staying in one place too long. Not when there were trained killers hunting one of his rangers.
"Lets go get some breakfast and hit the road." Crowley said to them both. "So, any ideas on where we should look for this arch enemy of yours, Badger?" Crowley was thinking that perhaps he could use his resources to locate the man and they could take him out before he had a chance to come after Badger again. Maybe after that was taken care of he would be able to address Badger's mental state which currently seemed to be on the edge of being unstable.
