Calling all archers and skiers.
Try your skill with a bow and with skis in the Archer's Biathalon sponsored by a small group of fans of the sport popular in both Picta and Skandia.
Participants will race from target to target on cross-country skis and at each of the 12 stations will have one shot to hit the target.
The over all winner will be the one who completes the course in the fastest time with the most accuracy.
Smidja Myrkvatn of Bjornholt Skandia will sponsor this event by the giving of a lovely sculpture of "Uller", The Skandian Hero/god of Hunting, Archery and Winter. Depicted here with his wolves on his skis and drawing his longbow, it is crafted in silver and amber and will be presented to the winner of the Archers Biathalon for overall excellence.
In addition the overall winner will receive 5 gold pieces from Baron William of Norgate.
The person with the fastest time will be declared a champion as will the person with the highest target score.
There will be a prize of an expert bow for the highest archery score and an expert set of skis and poles for the fastest time around the course. Baron William will award each of them 2 gold pieces.
The three non-monetary prizes are being sponsored, to promote the event's popularity in Araluen, by Myrkvatn Mercantile and The Valkyrie's Forge.
