Pick up one of Heather's hand copied recipe booklet that contains many recipes for great tasting nutricious travel food that one can eat as an alternative to the standard issued rations.
Heather understands that Rangers are not cooks and therefore recipes are written in simple terms.
Heather is collecting your favorites for next year's booklet. Add your recipe below and be sure to sign it so she knows where it came from. (OCC: If you post a recipe that is not your own and has been taken from a copyright source, please include the book, author and copyright information with the recipe. Thank you)
(OOC: Recipes posted here by Brandwyn are generally true medieval recipes she has harvested from a variety of SCA sources. Many of them she has actually cooked and enjoyed. All of them are viable recipes that you can try in your own kitchen or campfire. Enjoy!)

(reserving this first post for Heather - work in progress.)
Heather finally saw an opportunity, just as they were finishing up supper to corral Ringulf and ask him a question. She sat down on a log next to his campfire just as he was getting out his pipe and trying to light it.
"Hi Ringulf!" She grinned at him, obviously something on her mind. "Remember that apple bacon stuff you made last year? That stuff was devine! Any way I can needle the recipe out of you for my recipe book?" She smiled sweetly and batted her eyes at him. She had some parchment and a thinly cut charcoal stick ready in case he decided to divulge the recipe right there on the spot.
