Maybe I'm imagining it but I think I'm noticing a large surplus of ranger apprentices and no mentors for them which results in them never actually doing anything. Maybe we should keep tabs on the master to apprentice ratio a little just to make sure it stays in check. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, JezusBagels. Believe it or not, when Halt's Playground was created, members could only role-play as apprentices. That is, adult characters were not accepted. I know the site has come a long way since then, but I think the members got along just fine even without "real" mentors. In fact, members are not obligated to match their apprentice characters with another role-player's adult character. That is just an alternative to inventing a mentor NPC.
I will keep your idea in mind though. Thanks again.

It's a perfectly fine system, but I don't know if a lot of new members without real mentors are aware of it.

I think you are right, JezusBagels. Maybe we should put something in the guide about the fact you don't have to be paired with a ranger and that you can create an npc mentor. hmmm....
