I'm up for anything, really- so if any mentor needs an apprentice or apprentice needs a mentor; if any guy/girl needs a spouse; if anyone has siblings/parents/family members that are part of a plot but has no one to fill it up, I'll create a character for that (:
Or just any plot ideas in general. If not I'll end up going down that borin' old path and create a ranger XD
PS. This is the right place to post this, right? Or should this go under 'Chatter'?

This is the right venue J and welcome to Halt's Playground. It sounds like you are a veteran roleplayer and from what I have seen so far, your writing skills seem to be exceptional as well. I am very happy you have found us.
Are you familiar with John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice books? (Oh, I guess that should be taken to the chatter board - sorry - I can't seem to follow my own rules sometimes. LOL)
Anyway, we are normally short on mentors. I created an NPC for Ak107 (Icey)'s character Tessa because all of my rangers have an apprentice or two already.
We have two couriers now that are waiting for some good plots to come their way. If you have an idea and want to do something with them shoot a PM to me, Tandar or Ringulf just to make sure it doesn't interfere with the current major plot line we have going.
Check out the Timeline thread on the Apprentice Guide board to get a gist of what is going on currently.
Let's see, we have two thieves, though one of the players seems to have gone inactive and I don't know if he will be back, but we dont' really have anything going on with those theives yet either.
I have a pirate ship that is short on crew members. Go to Brandwyn's Profiles and look under Antonio "Tony the Razor" de Cortina's profile. It lists the crew officers I am missing or you could have just a general pirate. Firehead has a ship too, Captain Sklaw and he is a Privateer - Araluen. She would probably be willing to have another crew member as well.
Oh, and speaking of Tony, I introduced a new character on his ship, a young girl that was taken in by the ship's cook. I haven't written up any character profile for the girl yet. I have a vauge idea of what I want and how it came to pass that she was apprenticed as a cook by Burn, but nothing is written yet. If you are interested in playing her, let me know and I will PM you the rough outline. The mention of her is in "Grizzly Business but someone's Got to do it" on the Teutlandt board.
If none of that sounds interesting then feel free to create a character that you "want" to play. It can pretty much be any kind of person that you would find in Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice world. It is really up to you what you want to do. Take a look around at some of the New Topics and see if there is anything going on that you want to get in on. You might get an idea for a character from one of those threads.
Please be sure to read the rules if you have not done so already. Taking a look at the items on the Apprentice Guide is a good idea as well.
I am looking forward to role-playing with you! Let me know if you have any questions.
WELCOME! B

Hi Brandy! Anyway, I'll be interested in joining Tony's screw, despite me knowing close to zilch about ships. Is that necessary for me to play sail master / shipwright? If yes, I'll just be a sailor. I think I will- give me some time to finish up a profile haha. There's no age you prefer, right? So, say, a 16-year-old is fine as a sailor? Or would you prefer someone older? I'll explain further in my profile why he's there so young; I'm still working my way through the details. And he can be a friend to your young-girl-cook. Thanks a lot! (: Looking forward to RP-ing here hehe. (And yes, I am familiar with the books, read all eleven of them, as well as the two of the Brotherband series.)

Hi J, That's great! Love to have some more action on my ship.
No, you don't have to be sail master or shipwright. Anything you want to come up with you can.
If you have nautical questions, ask Ringulf. He is a graduate from Maine Maritime Academy and has spent his life sailing, so that's who I go to when I want to know something. I am sure there are other crew positions he knows that I don't, so if you want to be other than a sailor, just ask him. I love the idea of a younger sailor and actually 16 was not really that unusual on a ship in those days. (Go watch Master and Commander with Russel Crowe). There were normally lots of boys on the ships and by 16 they probably had a good amount of experience under their belt in many cases.
It was very unusual to have a girl on board though because most sailors felt it was bad luck to have women on board. It think it was some superstition about making the sea jealous but I am not sure.
I think I am going to put out there and see if Dian or Icy or Olivia want to play the young girl cook apprentice. That could be fun.
Glad you have read all the books. So have I but we are ahead of Ringulf and Tandar. Ringulf hasn't gotten past Sorcerer of the North I don't think. Too many irons in the fire and he has no time to read. Not sure how far Tandar has read but I think up to Nihon-Ja.
I love the Brotherband series so far. Can't wait for the third one.
Anyway, welcome aboard the Krakatowan Razor! (Oh, and you can have up to 10 characters too, so don't feel limited to just this one character. As long as you can keep up with the threads they are all in, you can have more than one.)
