Each 2-week challenge is issued by a member of the Halt's Playground community. Compose a 3-line haiku about the provided topic, and post the poem on this thread prior to the deadline. Use the following format: 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third. After the due date, any member may post the next Haiku Challenge. See the prompt below for an example. Have fun!
Write a haiku about Ringulf, the Ranger assigned to Marshwood Fief. Submit by September 23, 2012.

I elected to focus more on Ringulf's qualities rather than his physical attributes. Here is my first attempt at a haiku since, like, middle school: Fun-loving Ranger Strong in spirit and body Wise beyond his years

Here's my Haiku, I'm pretty sure I pulled this from random snippets I read when Ringulf was mentioned in a thread or something. I too haven't written a Haiku since middle school... but then again that was just last year XD:
Bigger than a bear He can eat an ox with ease his laugh deafens me

A big thank you goes out to all who participated in the first haiku challenge. I can honestly say I got much enjoyment from reading all the poems. This time around, I'm increasing the difficultly just a bit, and you may even have to do a little research! ;D
Compose a haiku about Devil, the mount belonging to Ranger Qwade. Submit by Monday, October 8, 2012.

I realize it's long past the due date, but I figured if Brandwyn could write a late entry, I could too! Great work, guys, even though Ringulf's poem doesn't follow the haiku format. I'm incorporating some new rules for the Haiku Challenge, so be sure to check out the first post in this thread for the update. Thanks. Magi of the oaks Skilled, invisible, deadly Long arm of the King Compose a haiku in reference to the Triad of Four, the group of assassins sworn to wage war against the criminal element. Submit your poem by Sunday, January 13, 2013.
