“Sorry Nissa I guess was more of a subconscious thing brought from my line of work. I didn’t mean to scare or offend you I guess I have to learn to relax a bit. So do you know of anyone or anywhere I might be able to find some work that might suit me around here? It would be a big help if you could. Oh and it’s getting late if you want you can stay here its warm and you have the extra protection of Dragon, to help you get a good night sleep. But if you don’t want to I completely understand.”
She shrugged. "You didn't scare me." Then she thought about it. "I'm not sure exactly who you should talk to. But word on the street is Benny would know. He has a lot of dealings in our world he's be able to help you. And." She got to her feet grabbed her quiver and her bow. "I can't stay I have my own house that needs to be tended to. But thanks for the offer. Perhaps I'll see you around then?" She gave Dragons head one final pat then walked out of the cave and into the night. Her cloak helping the shadows to swallow her up, her feet barely making a sound on the thick grass. As she walked to her house she was deep in thought. She had never really expected to see Sain again, after he had disappeared she had moved on with her life. She wasn't quite sure what to do now that he was back. It was a rather sudden appearance if she did say so herself. She also had to admit he was rather good looking, she didn't quite remember him being quite so good looking before. But the last time she had seen him was five years ago so, who knows? She sighed, she hoped that Benny would be able to help him. She just hoped that Sain would be careful Benny was not a very trust worthy character but had proved useful in the past. You just had to have the proper leverage on him to keep his mouth shut about you and your work. Maybe she should have told him that? Na he was an assassin she was sure he had brains enough to know how to deal with people like Benny. She finally arrived at her home it was cold and dark, she used the dim light of the moon to light a candle she then stuck that in her lantern. She put her weapons by her bed and quickly undressed into something else as the night air was chill. She got in under her blankets and pulled them up to her chin. She yawned, she was still thinking of Sain when she fell asleep.

Sain was a little sad when Nissa said she couldn't stay but he understood. But he was very grateful the first person he ran into was a friend. But Nissa was the last person he had expected though. She had grown into a very pretty woman. But he had no doubt if he crossed her she would make him pay dearly. Now to find this Benny person. Because of the kind of things he knew, he figured he would need some kind of dirt on him. He would have to talk to Nissa about that if he saw her again, before he found Benny. But for now it was time to get back to sleep. So he re-stoked the fire bundled himself back into his cloak, and fell asleep.

Hunter was on a hunting trip in the northern fiefs when he saw the sleeper. It was still early morning. Curious, he inspected the strangely clad figure. He was shorter than Hunter by a few inches, but a few years older. A smoldering fire lay about 3 feet from the sleeping man's body. Suddenly, the sleeper stirred.

Sain woke up from a good nights sleep, one of the best he had, had in a long time. Something about being back home and not having to sleep with one eye open, and of course thinking about Nissa had made it all a great night. As expected the fire was all but dead but he had some tinder near by for this very reason and after a few minutes the fire was going strong. He was glad to he didnt forgot how cold it could be aound here in the mornings. Sain looked over at Dragon who was also just waking up for the day. A gentle breeze came through, and right after it did Dragon got up and started smelling the air. Dragon turn to Sain and barked three times this ment he smelled someone near by. Sain reached for his quiver and bow and loaded one arrow and then put the rest on he back. Sain looked at Dragon " Good boy no one can ever sneak up on you" he said with a smile. Sain walked stood up and looked around but didnt move he wanted to stay near the cave so no one could sneak up from behind. He scaned the woods for any movement but saw nothing, but Sain had no doubt someone was there, so he stood and waited. After a few minutes he got tired of this waiting game. So he called out " I know someone is out there, I mean you no harm come out unarmed and I will put my bow away. You have one minute otherwise we will find you and that wont end well for you".

" I know someone is out there, I mean you no harm come out unarmed and I will put my bow away. You have one minute otherwise we will find you and that wont end well for you". The voice came from the sleeper. Hunter wasn't surprised the sleeper knew someone was nearby: that dog was pretty smart. However, in a fight, it didn't stand a chance against the massively built Strider, Hunter's highly trained husky. Not that a fight was going to happen, Hunter was just sizing up all possibilities, as his mentor had taught him. Hunter decided to give the sleeper a pleasant surprise. "I'm right behind you". Hunter told the figure. Hunter had told his dog and falcon, Deadeye, to stay behind. Hunter had silently climbed through the trees around to the left side of the cave entrance and slid down to the ground, barely 30 feet away from the man. The wind helped to conceal his direction from the dog. Since the wind was blowing at them and he was behind them, his scent was not picked up by the dog. The wind also covered any slight sound either the man or his dog would've picked up. "I don't have anything against you, that I know of, but if I find out you do, you better notmake the mistake of falling asleep again. That's a promise."

Nissa decided it was high time she stepped in. She silently stepped into the cave behind the stranger and pulled her bow back a razor sharp arrow on the string. "And I promise you, if you make another aggressive movement toward my friend I will shoot you. And I don't miss my targets. That is a promise." Then she raised her voice a little higher to address Sain. "It seems this fellow has caught you napping Sain. Be wary of him he's nothing but trouble. I'll catch up with you later." The hood of her cloak covered her face, and before either man could properly reply or look at her she silently walked out of the cave.

"Was I being aggressive? Sorry, I do that a lot. It's how I usually come off on people." Hunter explained after the girl had left. He hadn't expected anyone to be in the cave, since the only person in sight was asleep. She was one to watch out for, thought Hunter. But, the sleepy man could still be a friend. "Let's start over. My name is Hunter, but most people just call me Shadowless. And you are...?"

Sain was grateful Nissa was around otherwise this could have ended much worse. He would have to make a point to thank and repay her later down the road. Sain always payed his debts in full to the best of his ability. Sain lowered his bow now that the immediate threat was over. Sain offered is hand to the stranger for a hand shake. "My name is Sain, and this is Dragon." Sain said pointing down to his dog. "I have been away for a while just got back, will have to sleep with one eye open from now on." Sain said with a bit of a crooked smile. This guy was good not many could get the drop on him like that, even when he was sleeping.

"I have been away for a while just got back, will have to sleep with one eye open from now on." Hunter gave a small smile. "You and Me both." he said, shaking the man's hand. Hunter gave a short, sharp whistle. Strider and Deadeye came from behind him. Deadeye landed on his left shoulder and Strider came to his left side and sat straight as a board. "So, you're from around here? Care to show me around? I've only been here about a week, and all I've been doing is tracking some boar, but they got away. If I decide to come back here I'll need to know the area a little better."

As Sain was shaking Hunters hand he gave a sharp wistle, and when he did from out of no where comes a hawk to his shoulder, and a dog to his side. This guy was good and not someone to cross Sain got that very quickly. But he didnt seem to be a threat, in fact he seemed to be a nice guy. But Sain knew better then to drop his guard that fast so he made sure his knife was still on his waist and the clip was open, just in case. "So, you're from around here? Care to show me around? I've only been here about a week, and all I've been doing is tracking some boar, but they got away. If I decide to come back here I'll need to know the area a little better." "Yes I was born and raised around here but this is only my second day back in five years, so I dont know how much I could help you. But if you want to walk to town with me I will do what I can. By the way who are your friends." Sain asked pointing to the dog and the hawk. "If your want me and Dragon may be able to help you track your bour, not normally what we track but a fresh dog nose and a set of eyes might be what you need. Plus with two dogs and two hunters we could corner it much faster."

"If your want me and Dragon may be able to help you track your bour, not normally what we track but a fresh dog nose and a set of eyes might be what you need. Plus with two dogs and two hunters we could corner it much faster." "Sounds good to me. Strider, what do you think?" Strider looked up at Hunter and wagged his tail. "Ha ha ha, I think he wants to go along with it! Strider is more of a fighter than a tracker. That's partially what my falcon Deadeye is for. He'll circle around above me every five minutes of tracking, and will give two long screeches if he sees something. Both of them are my best friends, and they keep proving their worth again and again." Hunter patted the falcon's head gently and gave Strider a grin. "This guy seems to trust me", Hunter thought. "That's a first." "Well, what are we waiting for?"

"Well, what are we waiting for?" "You lead the way take me to the last place you saw the boar and we will see what we can find there." Sain said while putting out the fire and getting all his stuff together. Sain wasnt super hungery so he split one of the two rabbits from the night before for breakfest and desided to offer the other half to Hunter. The other rabbit he broke off one leg for the hawk and split the rest in half for the dogs if Hunter didnt mind. "Hey Hunter you and your friend hungery? It could be a long day tracking is not a fast thing we dont want to stop once we start." As he finished asking Sain held out the fresh meat for Hunter to take and do with as he pleased. Sain made this offer for two reasons one he wanted to keep on this guys good side one, but he also wanted some of the meat from the boar if they found it. He loved fresh boar and if he offered food now he might get a little in return later. It was only fair with the work they where about to put in and the time he wouldnt be able to get any food for himself.

"Hey Hunter you and your friend hungery? It could be a long day tracking is not a fast thing we dont want to stop once we start." "Why not? Sure." Hunter took the rabbit meat from Sain and fed it to his pets. Looking behind him, Hunter pointed in the distance. "Last time I saw him, he was running towards a thicket about 50 yards that way. I smelled smoke, so I went off the track for a while to see who was here. Let's get moving! Deadeye, scout." Hunter's falcon heard "scout" and took off into the air, and circled in a 100 yard radius and came back without a screech. "Looks like the boar has moved on. Let's let the dogs do their work. Strider, retrack." Strider took off towards the boar's trail. The dog made up for the lack of smell with an intense memory. The hunt was on.

Sain was pleasantly surprised the Hunter had no problems taking food from him. Not everyone would be willing to take food from some one they just met a few moments before. But now it was one to the hunt. Hunter said he had seen the boar about fifty yards away earlier but boar can move fast so this could be very hard. They would have to leave now if they had any chance in picking up the trail in time. Once everyone was done with their quick breakfast, they began the hunt. Hunter sent his hawk in the air to look, but in these trees Sain didn't have high hopes, no this hunt was for the dogs. Hunter had said his dog was a fighter not a tracker so once Dragon picked up the boars trail he would lead the way. Dragon was a great tracker he was a big help in hunting of course, no matter was they where hunting. Sain called to Dragon "Hunt meet" instantly Dragon barked once in reply and put his nose to the ground. After a few minutes Dragon barked twice saying he had a trail. Now Sain just had to hope it was the right trail.

Hunter stayed in the shadows of the budding trees as he followed Sain and Dragon as they tracked down the Boar. He thought they were getting close. The bits of turned up earth were getting fresher every time. They stalked on quietly for a few hours. Occasionally, Hunter would send Strider bolting up the trail to see if he could scare the boar out of any potential hiding spots. That way, if it moved in any direction, the dogs would chase it and he and Sain could come up around on either side. Since Hunter was used to running among the tree branches, he could get at the boar from an unexpected angle. Sain would stay on the ground while Hunter sprung from branch to branch, once they found the animal. Then, out of nowhere, it came right at them from about 15 yards away. The dogs leapt out of the way as it came crashing at the party. So much for tree-running thought Hunter as he slipped his tomohawk from his belt. Sain would be a much- appreciated friend in case it leapt on him. It came straight at Sain. Only a few yards separated Sain's stomach from the tusks. Then out of nowhere, Deadeye came swooping at it's face, confusing the boar. It changed course just in time. It narrowly missed Sain by inches. "Come on! We've gotta chase it down!!" shouted Hunter. "Strider! Chase!" he ordered.
