Age: 24
Gender: Male
Profession: Rogue
Appearance:
Karel always has a smug look of confidence. He has pretty boy short dirty blond hair with long bangs, hazel eyes, and a cocky smirk. His features are that of one that is older than he looks with an almost boyish face. A frail looking physique when clothed hides his lean exceptionally muscular body that puts some felines to shame. Karel stands at 5' 8" and roughly 170lbs, not including his gear. Generally found in dark leathers and a large double sided cloak that could wrap around him and many knives about his person, he also hides a pair of short axes that can either be thrown or fought with in melee.
Personality:
Having no qualms about stealing to make a quick coin, which he actually enjoys, Karel does take issue with murder and will never harm a child, though killing through necessity he might not like but will do. Once he knows that a person is trustworthy and has become his ally he might run from a doomed fight only to save his people later when he can truly apply his trade of stealth. He is generally quiet and observant but, sometimes when the opportunity presents itself, he can't help but make a sarcastic remark.
History:
Karel (pronounced Kah-rhel) was born in a moderately large sea port town in the Greenfield fief. His father, he has never known, though Karel did find out that his father was a sailor. His mother, Lyrial, a local barmaid, contracted an illness and passed on when Karel was five. Ever since he was orphaned Karel stole to survive, everything from food to jewelry, farm animals to coin. Karel had become quite a proficient pickpocket until he tried to steal from an assassin by the name of Mordikai. Mordikai caught Karel and threw him into an alley where he proceeded to beat the boy, now nine years old, while he was beating Karel, Mordikai noticed that all his attacks were being partially deflected making them glancing blows. After a while of this encounter going on Mordikai stopped and offered to take Karel under his wing because he was so nimble and Mordikai knew he could use the boy. From the start of their relationship Karel knew things could only get better. Mordikai taught Karel everything he knew, everything from the arts of stealth, killing, poisons, stealing, and burglary. Eleven years passed and Karel had become just as good as his master, if not better in some fields. Then, like all good assassins, Mordikai was caught in a trap set by a Count that Mordikai had crossed in the past. During the fight Mordikai lost his life fending off four soldiers under the command of the Count, while protecting Karel. As Karel watched his master lose his life he felt a rage like none he had ever dreamed of experiencing, he picked up a pair of axes and became a whirling cyclone of death. Cleaving limbs from the Counts soldiers it appeared that Karel was putting forth no more effort than chopping wood, ever since that day when he massacred the Counts footmen he became known as "Cyclone Jack;" named so because he was viewed as a whirling lumberjack. Since his masters passing Karel has applied his trade to many clients and himself honing his skill. To this day he roams throughout all the fiefs following his nose for coin and the temptation of impregnable locations all simply to test his skill while waiting for the day to come similar to his master.
Additional Details:
Karel carries with him an assortment of equipment many of which are knives, two stilettos in his boots, two stilettos along his belt line on his back, two stilettos in spring-loaded wrist mounts, two daggers at his hips, two daggers on his upper back along his shoulder blades, two short axes in the small of his back, and a hand crossbow with a case of bolts are the majority of his weapons. Other such weapons are his poisons many of which are paralyzing, he does however carry some poisons that make his targets pass out. He has a horse, lock picks, a grappling hook, rope, mortar and pestle, flint and steel, a camouflaged tent, dark leather armor that has a thin layer of chainmail in between two layers on the chest piece, and a double sided cloak with one side being a deep dark brown and the other more of a forest camouflage.
