Emily walked slowly around the ruins of her first home, Castle Gorlan. She cursed mentally as she stumbled across a low wall that she hadn't noticed. The visit was against Halt's and Crowley's wishes-of course- but this wasn't a fact finding mission. This was for her. Mainly to discover suppressed memories, and maybe even get the thought of rebelling out of her mind. She shook her head. "Merde. I am his daughter." She sighed. Sooner or later, she'd have to leave. Before any one saw her and told Crowley.

Nissa was sitting in the Gorlan ruins not the least bit scared like most everybody else was. There was nothing here to be scared of it was just deserted and run down was all. Frankly she was surprised no other bandits had made this their home. Rangers didn't come here, no one else did really deserted places had a way of spooking people. It was rather perfect for bandits, which was why she was thinking about making this her new home. She was a bandit and needed a place to stay and there were plenty of rocks and such she could easily make a shelter here and stay low for awhile. She kind of needed to stay out of site for a little while, she was easily making a name for herself in the kingdom and it wasn't necessarily a good thing. She was a notorious bandit Mouse she was called because she could weasel her way out of a lot of tight spots. She had been captured a number of times but never made it to the jail house. She had also angered a number of rangers which satisfied her very much but also filled her with caution. If she angered to many rangers then the whole corps would be after her and she'd never be free. She went back to thinking about her recent encounter with a certain ranger what had his named been? she thought it started with a p. Then there was that other ranger named Justin the one with the wolf. She made a face. Those two would certainly had it out for her seeing as they had both captured her and she had escaped both. She smiled a little and sat back against some rock her quiver by her side filled with arrows with red feathers there was a knife in her hand and an apple in the other she was slicing the apple and eating it alone with her thoughts and liking the solitude after being hunted for so long it was nice to be able to relax for a change. What are the odds anyone would even come here?

Emily cursed. It was the fifteenth time she had stumbled upon a rock. She walked into a field, and stopped cold. "No." She remembered herself saying. "I won't steal from people any more!" Her father shrugged. "Then pay the price for disloyalty, My Princess." Emily winced as she remembered that beating. The worst beating he had given her, and she was still afraid of whips to the day. She sat down on the cold ground. It wasn't freezing, but it was cold enough to send shivers down her spine. She hoped no one was there, but she was about to be in for a big surprise.

She dug the sharp blade into the tender fruit and pulled slicing off a chunk and sticking it in her mouth, she loved apples. They were so sweet and juicy, this one was a little more tart than she liked but it was food and she was hungry so she didn't complain. She had already eaten the loaf of bread she had pilfered from the bakery that morning. Evidenced that she lived day to day on only what she could steal or find was evidenced by her bony body. Her ribs stuck out and her face while not sunken in or anything still didn't look as full as the average person. But she still had muscle and strength that if you went up against her in a fight made you think twice about underestimating her. She had quick wits and more muscle than it looked, she was also extremely flexible, she was not an adversary you wanted to go up against. But most people didn't really see that or know it because of her small size. She was doomed to be considered to small to be a threat well mostly anyway. She thought she heard a footstep of someone and she frowned sticking her knife in the ground and her apple on her quiver she put her hands on the ground and leaning against the wall for support pushed herself up and twisted her head and looked over the wall. There was someone coming! She dropped back down before they could see her and cursed silently. Would they ever leave her alone?! What if it WAS a ranger, what if it was Justin? Or, or Patrick? She couldn't out run either one! She stopped and thought trying to think of what to do, she instinctively grabbed her bow and gripped it with a death grip her mind racing.

Emily's eyes shot to the left. She had seen a movement, but she was in no condition to fight, unarmed as she was. "Hello?" She called. "My name is Emily. I'd like to have you were I can see you, please." Her mind was racing. Who else could be in the Ruins of a hell house......

Nissa winced she had been spotted. So either it was a ranger or another bandit. But she felt like she knew that voice. It had a feminine ring to it. Was that Emily?
"And how do I know you won't just shoot me right away?" Nissa called back an arrow knocked on her bowstring ready to pull back.

"Because, my bow and arrows and knives are with my horse." Emily smiled. "And besides, Nissa, I wouldn't want to shoot my friend, would I?"

So it was Emily! Nissa relaxed and picked up her apple and knife again and stood to her feet.
"No I suppose you wouldn't want that now would you?" She hopped up over the wall she had been leaning on and approached Emily. She carved another piece of apple and stuffed it into her mouth. Emily was well enough she supposed well as far as rangers went anyway. In fact she was the only ranger Nissa didn't think about killing on sight. Which was very rare indeed.

Emily eyed her 'friend' and sighed. She pulled out a piece of bread that she had stuffed in her pocket and handed it to her. "And that had better be real. And edible. That cost me a squirrel."

Nissa took the bread and looked at it. "I hope its edible to." she said before cramming it into her mouth as if she was starving which she was. "Tastes all right." she said her mouth full some crumbs falling onto her front she brushed them off. "Thanks." she swallowed the bread and looked at Emily. "What do you mean it cost you a squirrel?" she asked.

"The baker was hungry. He wanted meat. I gave him a small squirrel for a loaf of bread." Emily smiled. "Your not in too much trouble, are you? I got into a load of trouble for being a Bandit's friend. Oh, well."

Nissa shrugged tossed the apple core far away wiped her dagger on her shirt then shoved it into her boot. She wiped her mouth on the back of her hand. "I'm a bandit Emily, I'm always in trouble. Its an occupational hazard." Nissa sighed a little, she didn't like the term "Fiend." she didn't feel like being that close to someone. She was a bandit and a good one she didn't have the luxury of friends. She had one friend Sain but she hasn't seen him in awhile. "You shouldn't help me Emily. I don't need it I'm doing just fine on my own always have and always will."

Emily raised an eyebrow. "Like when you almost fell out of a tree and broke your neck? Or when Halt caught you, and you made it closer to a jail cell than you've ever been? You need a spy in the corps. I'm it. And besides," Her dead, black eyes fluttered. "That's what friends are for."

Nissa glared at her. "I did NOT almost fall out of a tree and break my neck. As I recall I was hanging by a branch. I don't NEED your help Emily, why you keep forcing it on me I will never know. I was doing fine before you showed up. And for your information Halt has never once captured me it was his apprentice Gilan thank you very much. And he wasn't even sure it was me at the time so it was easy to escape." she turned her back angrily to Emily and walked over to her quiver and bow. It bothered her that Emily kept trying to force help on her as if she OWED the girl something. She owed no one anything and she intended to keep it that way. Besides the girl was a ranger honestly how trust worthy could she even be?

Emily glared at Nissa. She composed her self and said, "I wasn't always a Ranger." She said. "My dad was Morgarath. I was a thief. I know what it's like to be on the run. I thought by talking to you and helping you, maybe....maybe the side of me that wants to start a rebellion against the King will go away. It's a little bit of you're helping me, for my help." She turned around. "I'm sorry."
