"You know, I could have rode my own horse out of here." Emily said, stubbornly. "I don't have to be moddy coddled." She went to try and stand, but fell back again. "Ur maybe I'll just stay here..."

"stop it." he muttered at her and glowered, "Why should I tell you?! you won't get a word out of me at all." he spat and then yelped in pain, "OWWW. You snar-" the stumbled and fell over a rock, ending his sentence. It was his scrawny partner who finally broke, "All Right, alright! Just stop, I can't take it anymore! I'm sorry Jargle, we are dead men anyway." he looked to Skyler, "We-we-we were told that at courier and ranger were running around this area." he said, "That both are apprentices and should be easy with no skill. He didn't say much on why he wanted them." he looked at his feet, muttering the last part.
ooc: sorry for the late reply and not so great post. Been super busy working overtime and getting ready for school and horse shows.

Emily glared at the two for a moment, and growled, "I'm not an apprentice, thank you." She smiled, although it never reached her eyes. "I'm a full fledged Ranger. The only reason you beat me was because you took me by surprise." She rolled her eyes. "And who is this 'he' we keep hearing so much about? I'd like to meet him."

Skylar was amused at the two of them. She really was, bandits were usually so easy to break. And half the time they were stupid as well. These two seemed no different. But she was very interested in who this "he" was as well. She grinned at the one bandit who had been talking. Also she leaned down using her long arms grabbed the fallen Jargle by the scruff of his neck and hauled him to his feet she gave him a light push to get him back walking.
"Oh come now!! Don't stop now! It was just getting interesting."
Someone was employing bandits to snatch apprentice's... or rather apprentice, Emily was not an apprentice she felt stupid for having made that mistake earlier she wouldn't let that happen again. Least ways not on her end. That was a slightly alarming notion, it almost made her want to go back to the castle and escort every single courier apprentice on their assignments. She also wanted to dash off into the woods and bring this person to justice.

ooc: I haven't figured out who 'he' is yet, Im working on plot line still. lol
Jargle looked murdously at his partner but didn't say anything. Mean while his partner looked up at the knight, "I ain't telling you any more, he is always watching. He has eyes and ears everywhere! You won't get another word out of me!' with that he held his mouth firmly shut.
What they wouldn't see that both bandits were scared, 'he' was a ruthless leader, and if they didn't report back to him, 'he' would send people after them and if they are caught empty handed... Jargle got chills, the results weren't pretty. His partner looked up and saw Redmont coming into view, on the plus side of being caught, at least they would be safe inside the walls.
Ryills was still looking out the window when she saw a cloud of dust in the distance. That must be them!!! Her heart lept into her throat and her suddenly she didn't feel good. Ryills was nervous, how would Emily react to her actions? would she forgive her? would Ryills be able to got out on missions again? Questions galloped through Ryills mind as she waited for them to come into Redmont.

Emily glanced around their surroundings. She didn't know how close or how far they were from the castle. Really, all that was on her mind at this point was the pain coursing through her body and hoping that the horse she was riding behind didn't decide to take a dump on her.
Groaning slightly, she looked around. It looked like they were getting close to the castle, but it was anyone guess. Well...not really anyones. The people above her most likely knew, but she didn't want to annoy anyone by asking.
She looked back up at the sky. To her, it seemed too bright of a blue and she shut her eyes tight. "Did anyone notice how bright the sky seems today?" She asked of no one in particular. "It seems to be very cheerful today." She smiled as she said that. "And are we close to Redmont yet?" She didn't want to sound snobby, but she thought it did. Sighing, she shut up, and waited for some one to say they were there.

Katrina looked at Emily in concern. If she were starting to see things, then she was in worse shape than Katrina had initially thought, and that was bad enough. Perhaps it was just the pain making her eyesight different. It was a sunny day, but not particularly bright.
"We are within sight of Redmont's walls," Katrina assured the ranger. "We'll get you straight to the infirmary and they will patch you up. I think they might reccomend some bed rest while your bones heal up," she joked.
"What were you doing out there in the woods without an armed escort anyway?" Katrina asked Emily, trying to take her mind off her injuries. "I thought it was pretty standard now days for rangers and couriers to travel in the company of some Royal Scouts, City Guard or some type of military escort." She knew they were diong that in Marshwood and Caraway and Nortgate, but perhaps Redmont hadn't reached that stage yet. "There seems to be a lot of scum like these guys out targeting rangers and couriers in the northern fiefs. Seems Redmont is no different. We need to catch this leader of theirs and find out what he knows."

"I didn't really think that we needed one. I thought that it was going to be the usual stick-up-his-butt noble and we'd get done quickly." Emily said. "Well, thats how it started. Ryills did a good job and she got her answer in a timely fashion, so I decided to take her on a ride through the forest and give her pointers on riding and nobles."
Emily smiled. "But I guess I wasn't paying very good attention, because I was answering her question when I was knocked from my saddle. The last thing I remember was fighting some bandits and hitting a tree. The next thing I know I was waking up tied and on a horse."
She then remembered Ryills. "Is Ryills ok? I saw her fall off her horse before I told her to run. She was crying....It looked like she got hurt. Is she ok?!"

ooc; hum..just trying to get things moving along? hahaha I think i have a plot line that can go with this RPG. took awhile to think it up but I think it will work just fine. The two bandits grumbled to themselves as the group walked through the gates. Jargle glowering at the Ranger, "I hate her.." he muttered as guards took him and his buddy away. It was supposed to be easy, and what was he thinking of letting the messenger to get away? if she was caught then he wouldn't be in this mess and his leaders plan would be set into motion, slowly but surely. Slowly Ryills followed Lady Pauline down the steps and to the courtyard, wiping her face with her sleeve. Come on Ryills, get yourself together she thought to herself. She halted inside the door, looking out. Lady Pauline was already talking to the group, she could pick up some words but not the whole conversation. But from the looks of it, it looks like that caught two of the bandits as Ryills saw them getting led away, the knights were dismounted and talking to Lady Pauline, giving an account of what had happened. Or that is what Ryills assumed. Looking at the group she spotted Emily getting taken off her horse and being carried by two healers to the hospital. Her stomach did flip flops, "I"m sorry Emily." she said as Emily disappeared from view. Ryills turned her attention back to the group and saw Lady Pauline pointing at the doors and probably at Ryills herself and saw the group making their way up the stairs. Ryills took a deep breath and walked up to them. "Will Emily be ok?" she muttered looking at Katrina and Skylar.

Skylar dismounted Lucky and watched closely as the guards took the two bandits away. She looked back out into the woods she kind of wanted to go back out and search for more of them. She was sure that there had to be more than just the two of them that had attacked the two girls. She patted Lucky on the neck.
"Good boy."
"Will Emily be ok?" she muttered looking at Katrina and Skylar.
While Katina talked to the adults she turned to Rhylis and smiled a little she laid a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Emily is strong she will be just fine. She will need a lot of rest but she will pull through."

The Baron and Sir Rodney filled Lady Pauline in on what had happened and Katrina interjected a few details here and there. But Katrina was keeping her eye on Emily and making sure the healers were not jostling her too much.
She was tired of these bandits all over the Kingdom that appeared on the surface to be just committing random acts of robbery or murder. Katrina had been searching for the person or group that was coordinating the bandits for over a year. She knew they couldn't be acting alone and without some purpose in mind. She had not been able to capture one of the bandits and learn anything before they were mysteriously killed or had poisoned themselves.
It was high time to get to the bottom of things, but no matter what she tried, she always came up empty handed. Katrina half listened to the other nobles talking about Emily and wondered if she could take the time from her mission to go search for the bandit's leader. She glanced at Skylar wondering if she were thinking the same thing.
"They are getting bold, to knock a ranger off her horse in broad daylight and expect to get away with it," Lady Pauline was saying. "Can nothing be done to stop them?" she asked the Baron.
"I could send out a small force to look for them, but we've tried that before and always come up empty-handed," he ansered. "I am open to suggestions."
Katrina didn't have any answer on what would work, but she could spend a couple days telling them what hadn't worked in Norgate or Marshwood so far. "I think a small reconasaince team might be a better idea," she suggested. "The problem is, most of them have never returned from the ones we sent out in Norgate." She recalled her own trip up into Picta to discover the truth. "It would have to be comprised of some excellent archers and swordsmen to have any chance of success," she continued.
When Lady Pauline mentioned Emily's companion and pointed to Rhyllis, the girl walked over and tentatively joined them. The poor thing looked terrified and miserable. Katrina smiled at her encouragingly, a silent invitation to join the discussion.
Ryills took a deep breath and walked up to them. "Will Emily be ok?" she muttered looking at Katrina and Skylar.
Skylar placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, "Don't worry Emily is strong she will be just fine. She will need a lot of rest but she will pull through."
Katrina nodded and replied softly, "Thanks to your swift feet and smart thinking. If you hadn't gone for help Emily would still be out there and in bad shape, possibly dead," Katrina told her. "You probably saved her life!" Katrina looked back at Sir Rodney who was listening in. "I just hope we can get out there and catch the person who set those two idiots up to trying to kidnap you and Emily."

Emily looked around the healers' room silently. Everything seemed to either hurt, or was numb entirely, and the ceiling she was staring up at looked like it was spinning.
She took a glance at the people who were standing over her or to the side of her, poking and prodding. She had to clench her fists to keep from crying out.
Sighing, she said, "I want to see Lady Pauline, please."

Ryills nodded, tears still threatening to spill out, but she held it back and put on a brave, well hopefully, a brave face. "Tha-th-thats good." she said.
She pulled on Katrina's sleeve, "Lets go visit her, I bet by now the healers are finishing patching her up." Ryills said shakiley, just seeing Emily and talking to her would make Ryills feel way better. she looked at Skylar and back at Katrina. "Thank you for rescuing Emily and bringing her back...any news from the bandits? why they..um..attacked us?"

Skylar shrugged a little. "We know a little bit more but not much. Not enough to actually go on anything solid. Just that they were sent after you two because you were easy pickings. The why and the who are still above us. But don't worry I'll find out who is behind this one way or the other." she was determined and a determined Skylar was a force to be reckoned with. When she was determined there was pretty much nothing accept death that could stop her from attaining her goal whatever that may be.

Ryills nodded, "At least something." she said making a small smile before heading to the sick bay. She rubbed her eyes furiously, to look half way decent. Following the group they made it to the sick bay and Ryills looked over at the bed where Emily was laying, obvisouly very annoyed at the medics.
"Emily!" Ryills said and rushed over, "I"m so sorry, I'm so sorry I ran, I froze and and wasn't thinking..." the words tumbled out and over each other as Ryills rushed to apologize.
ooc: sorry for the late posting. Super busy!
