I have been doing quite a bit of leatherwork and axe throwing, I have also been working on some new knives and things but I have to show you my new Skandian axe! I love this thing! found the head at a flea market and put it on a 36 inch haft. I throw it with two hands over my head like chingatchaguk from the Last of the Mohicans and it is a blast I will try to put up some pics of it with a video and one of my wall of shame pics too! OK gotta put the video on youtube or something but will get it later. But the wall of shame pic: Only a Skandian Ranger...

... And he is always telling me not to throw my second axe at my first one when it sticks in the target.
...
I guess he felt the need to demonstrate the reason why.

The funny thing about this particular fumble was the fact that I threw them both at the same time, one in each hand. They hit almost simultaniously, right axe hit first and the left axe burried itself in the first with a really cool ripping, splitting noise as they both hit the target. I was trying to do my usual two handed throw, but I was actively trying to get the two closer together on the target. (guess I went a bit overboard!)

I love that shot! it is the single most poignant reminder that fooling around with axes is not a good idea...and will cost ya! I got away easy on this one at only the cost of a new handle about $10...could have been worse!

Yeah, don't try this at home - unless you have had some training or can afford the repairs. LOL
