Marcus raised an eyebrown at Emily, "Sooo, what's this? A beau, Sweet Emily?" He softly teased her. Then he looked the young man over, putting on his best big brother stare as he kept Olivia's waist firmly tucked in the crook of his arm.
He extended his hand in greeting to the young man, "Ranger Marcus, and this here is courier Olivia," he introduced himself and Olivia. "and who might you be?"

"I'm a Ranger," she said. "It's part of my job to scare people. Besides, you made it too easy, all lost in thought!" Olivia rolled her eyes but let Emily continue.
"I've been alright. Buried in paperwork with Crowley, but he let me sneak out to come to the fair." Emily said. "How have you been? I heard a rumour about you and Marcus....is it true?"
Olivia took a breath and opened her mouth to respond.
"It most certainly is," said a pleasant baritone voice from behind Olivia. Marcus materialized seemingly from nowhere and spun Olivia around. He tilted her head up and kissed her soundly before she could protest the impropriety of it.
Half her breath left her lips in a squeal as Marcus unexpectedly showed up and spun her around the other half was lost on his lips when she involuntarily said 'marcus' she soon forgot everything and was lost to his smooch, she put her arms around his neck for once not caring that there were people staring. They could stare all they liked.
He drew back slightly, staring into her eyes and said softly, "I have missed you, Liv." He smiled his mischievous boyish smile.
She smiled back at him affectionately. "I am positive that I missed you more." she leaned in and gave his lips a light peck before rubbing her nose gently on his.
"Emily! I've been looking everywhere for you!" A male's voice said. A blush rose on the Ranger's cheek, and she quickly hid it under her hood.
"Tom..." She muttered.
Olivia looked over at Tom a look of surprise flitting momentarily across her face before she hid it with the grace and proficiency of her career.
He extended his hand in greeting to the young man, "Ranger Marcus, and this here is courier Olivia," he introduced himself and Olivia. "and who might you be?"
She had been about to introduce herself when Marucs did it for her. She lightly pinched his back to let him know her displeasure at that but didn't leave his arms. She loved him to much to truly be mad at him and she had missed the feel of his arms way to much. She would let him hold her all day if only that were possible. She waited for the young man to respond.

Emily flushed and stuck her tongue out at Marcus, before controlling her features.
"Sir Tom." The knight replied. He took the extended hand and shook it with a firm grip. "I was looking for the Ranger Emily." He said, smiling over at the other Ranger. She smiled a little shyly at him, wishing she could put her hood back up to hide the blush that threatened to break out across her cheeks.

“Nice to meet you, Sir Tom,” Marcus winced a bit at the knight’s firm grip. “You shake hands like Sir Katrina.” He laughed, shaking out his fingers. He turned back to Emily, “Nice of Crowley to let you out in the sunshine outside of training.” He winked at her. “So what have you two got planned for the fair?”
He didn’t miss the pinch from Olivia and tickled her side just a bit where he had his hand wrapped around her waist. “And speaking of that, what have you got planned for us Olivia?” He hadn’t given a thought to what they would do at the fair beyond meeting up with her and not letting her out of his sight for the duration.

OOC: (meanwhile back at Finn’s shop…)
… "What say you help me guard my wares for a few hours each day during the fair. That would free me up to work on forging and I could take on more orders that way. In the end I could bring in nearly twice as much as when I am here alone. Ringulf will probably be here to help a good bit of the time, but his ranger duties are going to take him away from the wagon a fair amount too. You could work around your schedule at the fair - you know, tournaments and such you want to enter." Finn did some quick calculations. "So with that one silver piece to pay for this Iberian steel, and lets say about 4 hours a day for the five days of the fair, at the going rate of sword for hire, and calculating in my ability to increase my sales while you are here,I think that would work pretty well. What do you think?"
Skylar felt her jaw drop and she stared at Finn in utter disbelief. She finally managed to close her mouth and stammer out. "Uh, oh, uh that seems fair, that is extremely kind of you and a really appreciate that." she didn't know what else to say. A simple thank you just didn't seem all that adequate. She stuck out a hand. "You certainly have a deal. And my gratitude." She was very happy that she had stopped at Finns place. "When do you want me to start?"…
“You are welcome and I think it is a good deal. A pack of little hoodlems just ran through here talking about a choosing.” Finn was expecting Ringulf, but it could be a while if there was a choosing. Maybe Skylar would know. “Have you heard if there is a choosing for apprentices today? If there is, I could probably use your services for about an hour right now, if you have the time.” She began to dismantle the pommel, grip and crossguard from Skylar’s sword. “You can watch me melt down your sword. Unless you need to be somewhere right now?” She examined the broken edge more closely, angling it towards the light. “Seems strange that it failed here like this. It looks like decent steel. It must have been quite the blow.”

{OOC: Djolimar, Ringulf and Katrina}
Now here he was in Redwood in his own little camp, with his own little tent, and Duck just outside it on a tether. Duck was, of course his Ranger pony and the blonde sorrel pony was munching happily on his favored salt hay. Djolimar had toted quite a bit of it with him as a treat so he would not go off his feed. "Duck didn't keep no truck with any of that foreign food.' Fowlur would often say, and it seemed a good thing to keep his four legged friend very happy.
Sir Katrina threaded Ace through the throng at the faire carefully. She had debated on coming to this faire. Her heart wasn’t really in it. In fact, her heart wasn’t in much of anything anymore. Not since her bout with the Plauge… no, actually, not since Dougal…
She wandered aimlessly, getting the layout of the land. Her parents would be staying up at the castle where they had fled to from the plague. She planned to convince them to return to Norgate fief. In fact that was the reason she was here in Redmont. She needed to convince as many families and knights as she could to return to their homes in the north. Now that there was a cure for the fever, there was no more danger from that. Now the danger was from Picta and no one to work the fields and mines. Norgate’s economy had crashed and it was going to take a lot of brave souls to work their way back to its former glory.
She worked her way around to where several people had set up tents and there she saw her first familiar face. “Djolimar! Congratulations on your apprenticeship!” Ace nuzzled his shoulder and then sniffed noses with the ranger pony. “So who’s your friend here and has Ringulf been treating you well?”

“Djolimar! Congratulations on your apprenticeship!” Ace nuzzled his shoulder and then sniffed noses with the ranger pony. “So who’s your friend here and has Ringulf been treating you well?”
Yes Ma'am, thank you Ma'am...I mean Sir, Lady? This is Duck, my pony, never had one before but I feel like we have been together forever now, and Ringulf? He is showing me the whole world...that is, the part inside the Fief of Marshwood. But it seems like a whole new world to me! To think that having lived there I would know it pretty well, but I was never more than a few miles north of the Low Road, and to either end of it East or West from the bridge to the point. I had no idea how big it was...and now having come all the way to Redmont, my Marsh and the Road I knew seems rather small...though, I bet I could show folks a lot they have never seen if I were to bring them to the Marsh! I guess it is all just a matter of...perspective! At least that is what Ringulf keeps telling me. He has taught me so much! More and more every day.
Sometimes I miss being out on the marsh and I missed Pa a lot...well before he got moved in to the Lighthouse. Ringulf! Ringulf talked to the Harbormaster and got him a job and a residence right in the Ranger Light, right on the compound. Now I can see him anytime and he eats meals with us sometimes, when he isn't telling stories at the Ruddy Duck. He has become much more sociable now that he is closer to the port and not having to work so hard in the Marsh. He gets out quite a bit and even takes folks out as a guide when they come to visit! Sometimes even Royalty! But he don't treat them any different...Not ole' Fowler. I mean he is respectful and all, but when you are out in the Marsh it ain't no pic-a-nic, gotta pull your weight!
What about you? I have not seen you since the celebration after the cure. How are you doing? I heard you went up into Picta, up north, was it cold? are they friendly? I heard those Scotti folks were all kinds of mad when they didn't get to invade like they wanted to, not with what you did with the Knights and all, and everyone getting better. Before I left the harbormaster came to Ringulf at the Ranger Cabin and told him he might need help since a lot of the refugees from down south are commin' back into Marshport in droves looking to get back to their homes all over the Northern Fiefs. there are a lotta homes and farms and businesses that ain't got no one in 'em anymore. like that farm they found Yule and the Ranger apprentice that was missing. Those Brigands killed the whole family. I am glad that Ari found Kristin escaping from those Brigands! You know they were Scotti too! Good thing Yule helped her escape when he did or Ari would have never found em, till it was too late.

I can stay now, I can't really do much without a weapon." she chuckled a little humourlessly. Although it could be said that she did have a very mean punch if provoked.
She examined the broken edge more closely, angling it towards the light. “Seems strange that it failed here like this. It looks like decent steel. It must have been quite the blow.”

"Anything!" Marcus quipped, "As long as I am with you and at some point it involves those blueberry bubbly pies back in the food square." He grinned at the others. "They serve them piping hot and the juice runs down your chin. I hear that famous cook, Jenny, makes them at her restaurant and sells them in a booth here in the fair." He looked back down the row of booths for a moment, "I wonder where my parents have their booth set up. They said they were coming this year." Marcus escaped from the family furniture and carpentry business by becoming a ranger, but he still enjoyed working in the shop. He just wasn't as good at it as his siblings were.
"Why don't we just start walking around? There are a lot of vendors here," suggested Marcus.

Olivia nodded. "I agree." she turned to emily and tom. "Do you want to join us or do you have plans?" she asked polietly. Hoping the answer was no. She was looking forward to some alone time with Marcus. But didn't want to be rude, she didn't want to offend anyone.

Olivia nodded. "I agree." she turned to Emily and Tom. "Do you want to join us or do you have plans?" she asked politely.
Tom shook his head, "No, My Lady, begging your pardon," he grabbed Emily's hand. "I have something to show Miss Emily. Perhaps we will see you at the dance tonight." Tom nodded his head at them and steered Emily into the crowd.
Marcus looked after them for a moment and then at Olivia. Her eyes were so beautiful. He could stare into them for hours. He pulled her closer and cupped the back of her head in his right hand while gently rubbing his thumb over her porcelain smooth cheek. He really just wanted to kiss her and keep kissing her all day. "You are so beautiful, My Love!" It took all of his will power to release her without succumbing to his desires. He had gotten away with the unsolicited kiss in public once, but he doubted Olivia would let him keep embarrassing her all day.
He motioned for her to choose a booth or direction to walk but still kept a protective arm around her waist so they wouldn't get separated in the crowd. He leaned in and said softly in her ear, "I was hoping we would get a chance to talk today... you know, about our wedding plans, perhaps?"
All the old reasons for delaying their wedding were still there, but Marcus didn't care about any of them any longer. He didn't care about the ceremony so much for himself, but he wanted to make the wedding just how Olivia had dreamt of her wedding as a little girl. Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to find out much about those dreams yet. He also wasn't going to wait another year to make her his wife... well not if he could talk her into it sooner. One thing he had learned about Olivia was that the more you tried to force her into something, the more she fought being controlled. He didn't want to control her anyway. His parent's marriage was a partnership, a joining of two people into one team and that is what he wanted for Olivia and himself. But... the waiting was agony.
They approached a booth selling glass knickknacks and jewelry. Rainbow colors sparkled off the tiny round prisms strung on a silver chain. Marcus pulled one close for a look and then tossed the merchant a coin, not even haggling over the price. He held it up to Olivia, between them. "Olivia, I know we are bound to run into storm clouds, but I promise I will make our life full of rainbows. There isn't anything we cannot overcome if we are together." He hooked the chain around her neck. "But... I think I will die if we don't get married soon!" He grinned and kissed her nose.

"Was." she turned so that her side was facing finn and but her main focus was the people milling about keeping a watchful eye out for people wanting to cause trouble.
Finn was very curious about the story, especially with Skylar’s reaction, but she didn’t press the issue. She pulled out the portable “oven” from it’s shelf towards the back end of the wagon on the other side and set it up next to her forge. She placed a bunch of cold coals in the firepit area at the bottom and then scooped out a small shovelful of hot coals a carefully placed them in the center of the cold coals. Then she set her small bellows in its spot on the oven, plugged up the hole with a firebrick and then gently worked the bellows.
Skylar’s blade was heating in the forge along with the steel ingot to warm it enough to get them into the crucible so they could melt to a molten state. That was going to take all night to melt the material. The next day would be working the metal and shaping it into the sword and the last day would be putting the finishing touches and edge on it and reassembling the guard and pommel, assuming nothing went wrong in the process.
“Oh, what kind of sword would you like to borrow for the tournaments while I am working on yours?” Finn asked as she stoked the fire in the oven. “I have a couple of broadswords available, but I think a longsword might suit you better. Or if you want to do Florentine, I could loan you a couple of short swords.”
Finn adjusted the pieces of Skylar’s sword in the forge. They were starting to get orange. “Personally, I like fighting Two-swords, but then that is mostly because I hate carrying around a big heavy shield.”

Katrina slipped down from Ace, her plate armor clinking when she moved. The silver unicorns on her breastplate danced in the sunlight. She stood a large chunk of firewood up on end and sat down on it across from Djolimar. She listened with a bemused look on her face. When he paused for breath, she jumped in.
“Yes, I did go up into Picta and it was brutally cold, but I guess they like it that way up there,” She answered with a grin, but sadness was still reflected in her eyes. “I was trying to find out what happened to my fiancé. All I found was a grave and a few personal belongings.” She looked down at the grass beneath her feet, swallowing back tears. “They were planning an invasion, for all I know, they still are. I think Dougal found out about it and they found out he knew. Sir Timothy, Roath and I barely made it out alive, so I guess you could say, no, they were not friendly.” She gave a chuckle that sounded almost like a sob and cleared her throat. “Anyway, we made it back to Mackindaw Castle and Henry got word to the Baron. He mustered all the knights he could and we stopped them at the high pass. I don’t think they are done yet though.” Katrina looked at Djolimar and gave him a sad smile. “One thing about the Scotti, they never seem to give up.”
Katrina perked up a bit when he told her about people returning to Marshwood. “That is good news, Djolimar! That is why I am here this week. I hope to get more people back into Norgate now that it is safe.”
“So what is this about a missing ranger apprentice? Did they stop the brigands?” Katrina hadn’t heard about this story. Maybe Ringulf would show up and could fill her in.
“Do you have any plans for the fair, Djolimar?” Katrina asked. It was good to spend some time just chatting with a friend, and Djolimar was always so optimistic it was bound to rub off on her.

"You are so beautiful, My Love!"
Olivia allowed Marcus to pull her close and smiled at him as she stared back into his sparkling eyes. Her pale cheeks turned a slight shade of pink at the completment she couldn't help it she alway blushed when people complemented her. She smiled back at him. "Thank you dear, you don't look so bad yourself."
She kept herself within the protective confines of his arm as they walked about the fair. She smiled as he whispered confidentially into her ear.
"I was hoping we would get a chance to talk today... you know, about our wedding plans, perhaps?"
She gave a small sigh, they had already slghtly argued about this and she didn't want it to turn into a big argument. It was mostly herfault Marcus wanted to get married right away but that was his personailty always run ing around and doing things haphazardly. She nodded thought. "I know we really do need to sit down and discuss it in more detail.
"Olivia, I know we are bound to run into storm clouds, but I promise I will make our life full of rainbows. There isn't anything we cannot overcome if we are together." He hooked the chain around her neck. "But... I think I will die if we don't get married soon!" He grinned and kissed her nose.
She looked at all the pretty things at the booth and admired the skill that went into making such things. Before she could stop him he bought her something and placed it around her neck, she looked down at it then looked up into his eyes and smiled lovingly at him. "I know, how about we talk about it in serious detail while we eat lunch? You know how cranky I get when I'm hungry. I promise I haven't been avoiding it on purpose I have just been so busy with work and its still quite a shck that you want to marry me I just haven't really had proper time to think it through. I am sorry I haven't given you a date yet. This neckalce is beautiful and I love it, thank you." She kissed his cheek.

Skylar couldn't help herself she watched as the Finn put her sword in the fire, she had always been facinated by the skills of blacksmiths and how they made things from practically nothing. She was still very surprised at the deal Finn had given her, it was very nice of her to do so without knowing her at all.
Skylar had almost forgotten that she was going to borrow a sword, she grimaced a little at the mention of Florentine she hated that form of battle. Besides she was had good reflexes and cordination even so trying to weild TWO swords while trying not to die was just a little much for her taste. "Uh, no thank you any sort of light longsword is fine with me, i'm used to those more than anything else."
Finn adjusted the pieces of Skylar’s sword in the forge. They were starting to get orange. “Personally, I like fighting Two-swords, but then that is mostly because I hate carrying around a big heavy shield.”
Skylar nodded she looked like the kind of person who would be perfect for that sort of thing. "Yeah I can understand that, personally I don't mind a sheild but generally I don't really fight with one, most of the time its just to many things to keep track of when fighting for your life. Though I might in the torunament, I haven't really decided." She hoped she could see Finn in action she bet that she was really great, she would definitely be rooting for her to win.

Before she could stop him, he bought her something and placed it around her neck, she looked down at it then looked up into his eyes and smiled lovingly at him. "I know, how about we talk about it in serious detail while we eat lunch? You know how cranky I get when I'm hungry. I promise I haven't been avoiding it on purpose I have just been so busy with work and its still quite a shock that you want to marry me I just haven't really had proper time to think it through. I am sorry I haven't given you a date yet. This necklace is beautiful, and I love it, thank you." She kissed his cheek.
“Okay,” Marcus agreed. “I don’t want to fight about it or pressure you, but you are obviously working too hard if you haven’t had a chance to think about it. What have you been doing lately in the courier world?” He wanted to hear about her work, she was always so passionate about it. Marcus loved the way her eyes lit up when she talked about the courier business, even though he didn’t exactly understand why she found it exciting. He supposed she probably didn’t find his passion for archery that exciting either, but she had always listened intently when he talked about it. Suddenly an idea popped into his head.
As he listened to her, and they perused the various merchandise in the booths, he led them in the direction of the archery targets in a field across from the last row of vendors. There were three sections of targets set up, one set for the tournaments, one set for experienced archers to practice on and one set for beginners to try their hand at archery. The targets set up for the beginners was supervised by several Royal Scouts and Rangers who were helping people.
They neared the last booth in the row, and Marcus stopped to scan the rangers on the field to see if he recognized any of them. There were a couple of them present that looked familiar, but he didn’t recognize any of the Scouts on the beginner field.
“Hey, Olivia, have you ever shot a bow and arrow before?” he asked casually. “I would love to see you give it a try.”
