"Something tells me that their security would be far better than it was earlier today. I mean they had to have realized that they did something wrong. We would have to be extra careful. They might be expecting another raid," Damien said. Red frowned for a moment as he realized that Damien was probably right, but then he face brightened. "Well, we'll just have to think of another way of gettin' around 'em. An' say! Let's give 'em a show--a diversion! Snip shooting oughta do it. Let's see. While I'm thinkin' out the details, why don't you keep your eyes peeled for a good place to layover at?" He dropped his head so that he was staring at Hap's mane, and plunged deep into thought.

Damien nodded his head and then began to look for an appropriate stopping place. After about fifteen minutes, Damien spotted a clearing through the trees. It looked perfect. Surrounded by trees and the underbrush acted as a natural wall. "How's that spot? Looks pretty good to me. Nice and secluded. As long as the horses don't make a sound, we won't be spotted." said Damien. As he said this, he pointed towards the clearing.

Red had most of the details worked out when Damien spotted the clearing. "How's that spot? Looks pretty good to me. Nice and secluded. As long as the horses don't make a sound, we won't be spotted." said Damien, pointing it out. Red took a careful look at it before giving a verdict. Damien had chosen well; it was surrounded by trees and the underbrush acted as a natural wall. "Perfect. It'll do for the night. Good job in choosing it. But why did you chose this clearing instead of a different one?" Red asked as he swung out of the saddle and slid to the ground. It was a perfect opportunity to test Damien, and Red wasn't intending to pass it up. Second, he could work out the last of the details of their second night-time operation.

"Perfect. It'll do for the night. Good job in choosing it. But why did you chose this clearing instead of a different one?" asked Red. Damien began to think about it for a second. Why had he chosen this one? What was so different about it compared to the other ones? Thinking about it, Damien finally had an answer. Dismounting from Equis, Damien took Fenrir out of his saddle bag and put him on the ground. Needless to say, the dog was overjoyed. Looking over to Red, Damien answered, "Well, it is big enough for the all of the horses. It has bushes surrounding it, making it next to impossible for someone that is not on a horse to see it. Also there are enough trees around to make it seem that there is not a clearing right here."

"Well, it is big enough for the all of the horses. It has bushes surrounding it, making it next to impossible for someone that is not on a horse to see it. Also there are enough trees around to make it seem that there is not a clearing right here." Damien answered at last. Red nodded to himself. "Not a bad explanation." He unsaddled Hap and rubbed him down, then rubbed down the other horses. Finished, he walked over to where he'd deposited his saddle and took a seat.
"Alright, here's the plan. Depending on where they're camped when we start this little reunion, we'll be starting on opposite sides of the camp--more or less. We'll work that out when they git here and camp. Now, I'm going to start the distraction, and the moment when everyone's looking my way, I want you to sneak into the camp to the supplies.
" Make sure no one's looking your way before you start raiding their grub. I'll be doing everything I can to keep their attention off you, but there's some who might be intelligent enough to realize that I'm just a bluff. So look before you snatch.
" Once out, give a whistle--if you can't whistle, get a couple trees between yourself and the camp and holler at me. Your going to have six minutes to get in, grab the supplies we'll need, and get out again. You'll have four more minutes to signal me that your out and to get away from that camp. Can you think of anything that I missed?" he asked. "If not, get some sleep-- I'll wake you in a few hours." Then he grinned. "If yes, state it, I'll answer to the best of my ability, and then you'll get some sleep!"

Damien thought about it for a second and replied, "Nope, no questions. Now, I guess I'll get some shuteye. G'night." Turning around, Damien walked over to a tree. Sitting down on the ground, Damien pulled the hood of his cloak over his eyes and fell prepared to fall asleep. Just as he was about to finally go to sleep, Damien felt a soft, furry thing snuggle up next to him. Opening his let eye, he noticed that Fenrir was lying down next to him and preparing to fall asleep. Patting the dog on the head, Damien finally went to sleep.

It was coming on toward evening, when the 'guests' arrived and set up camp. Damien was right, They were more on they're guard then before. Giving Damien a shake, Red hissed, "Time to rise and shine." He gave a grin. "Give the night a couple of hours, and then we do some showin' off."
It was at that point in evening where the light could play tricks on your eyes, when Red gave the nod to start. Making a minimum of noise, he slid away into the shadows, moving until he was on the opposite the camp. From there, and with plenty of cover to move about freely, he began the snip attack.
One arrow went in the fire, while two guards sat staring into the flames. Both guards jumped up a moment later as the realization struck them that the arrow had not been there two minutes before. The moment the guards jumped, Red fired another arrow that skated off a guards' helmet.
Almost immediately thereafter, the alarm was raised, the they were organizing to search the brush for the snipper. Red sent forth a hail of arrows, making them scatter and dive for cover. Then he sat back and waited for them to regain their courage. After a moment, they rose, came together again, and plunged into the semidarkness.
Red let them come toward him a little ways before shifting his position. They went right past him in the dark, and Red set about keeping their interest. Tying one of the extra bow strings to the branch of a nearby bush, he scooted away to the cover of another, then gave several vigorous tugs on the string, making the brush shake and rattle. This commotion brought the men running back toward him, and he immediately unleashed another barrage of deadly missiles in their direction. When the soldiers dropped to the ground for cover, Red moved yet again, shifting to their flank, and there made their life misery for several minutes.

Damien groggily woke up as Red shook him awake. Rubbing his eyes to wake himself up, Damien heard Red say to wait a few hours until night began to fall. When that time came, Damien would be ready to do his part. In his mind, this was a mission of the utmost importance, a mission to fill his stomach with something other than six month old jerky. Damien then grabbed an empty saddle bag from one of the horses that he had pilfered and waited for Red to give the signal.
Once Red gave Damien the signal to start, Damien slung the saddle bag over his shoulder and silently crept into the shadows. Hiding in the bushes, Damien saw that most of the camp was busy dodging the arrows. Knowing that this was the opportune time, Damien rushed into the camp. Finding the mess was pretty easy, after all it should be the only tent with smoke coming out of the top. Peeking inside the tent, Damien instantly knew that this was where the food was. Breathing in the sweet aroma of not-stale food, Damien looked around to make sure no one was there. After finding that he was alone, Damien went to work.
He first started with the closest thing to him, bread. Opening up the saddle bag, Damien reached into the basket the bread was in and helped himself. After putting in five loafs of bread into the open bag, Damien wanted to grab something with a little flavor. Looking in the baskets, Damien found that these people do not eat there fruits and vegetables. Finding some fresh jerky in one of the baskets, Damien immediately put it into the bag. All of a sudden Damien heard whistling. It seemed that the cook had never gone outside during the frenzy. Hearing the footsteps come closer and closer from the tent next door, Damien rushed to the exit. After making a somewhat hasty exit, Damien ran for the bushes. Once knowing that he was safe, Damien gave a sharp whistle to Red then ran to the camp with his treasure. Hopefully, his mentor heard his whistle.

The moment Red heard Damien's whistle, he breathed a sigh of relief. Damien had completed his part of the mission without a hitch. That was good. He squirmed his way back to his starting point, unleashed the last of his arrows, and lit out like a scalded cat, slipping through the shadows and staying close to the ground.
