"But if I die and you live, then what? You're just going to leave my body wherever it happens to fall?" She didn't really care what happened to her body when she died, she would after all, be dead. Her parents had taught her the Christian ways, but she wasn't as into it as they were. She believed in slightly different things, one of them being she wouldn't be damned if she didn't have a proper burial. She figured if you got reborn in Heaven, then what was the point of taking care of your previous body when you'd never use it again?

((Does Christianity exist in this universe?))
Monkuta nodded in confirmation. "Basically... If you're dead. There's most likely nothing I can do, because there's a good chance I'll already be dead," he said. He narrowed his eyes, looking down the road. Something was coming towards them, though he couldn't make out what.

[idk, good question. I shall have to ask]
"But if you're better than me..." she trailed off as she noticed he was hardly paying much attention to her, if any at all. Used to it, she being a 'Lady' and all, she kept her mouth shut and scanned the terrain. She sat up a little taller at the flicker of movement and started to ask about it, but figured she'd at least wait until she could make out the features. It was probably just a wild animal anyways, she told herself. Along with getting a tighter hold on her impatience.

Monkuta grabbed his bow and hastily strung it pulling an arrow from the quiver and pulling back, though keeping it aimed towards the ground. He doubted it was anything too dangerous, but they were far from friendly territory now. They had to be cautious. As it grew closer, Monkuta could almost make out the shape, but he still wasn't sure.

When Monkuta nocked his bow, Marina's gaze flew to him in a hurry. She flicked her eyes back to the now advancing shape and went to mimick the ranger's actions. Until she remembered that her bow wasn't strung and doubted that she'd have time to do so. She hadn't the strength to do it herself, having to rely on the ground, gravity, and her weight for the most part, and seriously didn't think she'd have time to do that.
So she unsheathed her knives instead, throwing one in her right hand, saxe in her left.

Monkuta cocked his head, keeping his arms stiffly aimed down. "It's... A person on a horse. Probably a merchant. I can't make out any weapons." He relaxed his arms, putting the arrow back in the quiver and shouldering the bow. However, he did keep one hand behind his back, inches away from the throwing dagger.

Marina didn't turn to him at the sound of his voice, but kept her gaze tightly fastened to whoever was heading in their direction. Even when he lowered his bow, she kept her hands by her knives. They passed without much mishap and made good time to their destination. [is that okay; if it is can we go ahead and skip to the arena place? Or do you have something else in mind? If you do just say so and I'll change the last sent.
[oh, and if it is can we go ahead and skip to the arena place - where we can get ambushed and each forced to fight?];

((OF COURSE NOT! Half the adventure is getting there! We can, however, skip to Seacliff. I'll make the first post over there))
