I been thinking lately (SHOCKING!) and here's what I got:
1. Zones It occured to me that we haven't any sections for Celtica, Sonderland, Hibernia, Picta, etc... Not a big issue, but what if someone wanted to be a Scotti? Just a thought.
2. Rangers and their Fiefs Slightly more pressing matter. In reading book 5, it occured to me that there are 50 fiefs and as such, only 50 full rangers at a time. Every full ranger needs a fief. Otherwise, they have to just be wards and apprentices. So... Where are we all? Obviously we can't stake claim over places such as Redmont and Seacliff, since cannon decided which ranger has power in those. So can we fill in the blanks and make names for the fiefs of our rangers? It also means that we have to keep tabs on just how many rangers we have around here.

They're allowing renegade rangers - those that are rangers but without a fief. I belief that info. is in one of Tandar's characters, though I don't remember which...
And the maps are pulled off another website - don't know it, but it says somewhere below the maps I believe. Will have to go check...
And I'm sure if you ask, they'll make a thread for that country. Tandar did that for me - albeit a little late *grin* [my fault entirely. He gave me a date, I'm impatient. Isn't that suprising? lol. :-)]. But since the maps aren't theirs I doubt they can add it.

You cannot start out with rouge ranger or renegade rangers, but if in the course of a plot your ranger happens to go rouge, well, you can do that.
However, know that you will be required to turn in your oakleaf, your ranger horse, your cloak and your double scabbard with knives when you decide to leave the Ranger Corps. If you fail to do so, you will be hunted down and brought to justice.
We don't want everyone to do this, so please be sure to have a good reason for doing so.
Also, I am not positive that Tandar's character, Patrick Palisade, is actually a rouge. There is a possibility that he is working directly for the King and resigned to make his cover more plausible while he infiltrated the Banished Brethren and the Grizzlies. That is yet to be revealed.
He is being hunted by rangers and bounty hunters and even an assassin.
As to the maps, we pulled them off the official Ranger's Apprentice web site. I believe the moderator of that site is the one who created those maps. It says something about it on that web site.
We could not change those particular maps, but if it becomes an issue I could probably make up new maps.
Check out the Apprentices guide on the Rules and guides board. I just posted info on other fiefs and stuff that you might find useful.
We are allowing rangers to roam around without being assigned to a fief so that we are not limited to only 50 rangers. These would be "rangers-at-large" or "unassigned rangers" or some such title rather than calling them renegade rangers. Shanna, Patrick and several others don't have fiefs they are assigned to.
I will have to get back with Tandar on making up a name for a fief and see if he wants to do that or not. Meantime, for those of you who have read the last 3 books, if you see a new fief mentioned in any of them, please send me a PM about it with the book and page number so I can add that to my list. I think I got all of them from the first 5 books.
If you need another board made for a location we don't have, just ask Tandar if he will make one. Most likely he will as soon as he gets the time.
Did that cover everything asked here? I hope so.

I'm not saying change the maps. I'm saying fill in the blanks. There are obviously at least thirty fiefs that JF has yet and doubtfully will mention in the books. Why not create them for our purposes?

I am not sure if we can modify the current maps in the form we have them. Might be easier to just start from scratch.
I have thought about filling in different fiefs. It could get a bit tricky down the road though, as JF continues to write and make more fiefs up. They could end up overlapping or something. That is the only concern I have.
Let me discuss it with Tandar when he gets back and see what he thinks. Till then, stick with what we have. We are not using all the ones he has mentioned. See my post in the Apprentice guide on more info on fiefs and stuff.

Notice I said that we shouldn't modify the maps. We don't need to. So when JF fills in the blanks, we'll change ours to fit it.

Then he shouldn't have posted that in his profile. Sheesh, I swear. lol. :-)
Oh, and when Halt was banned from Araluen he only had to give up his oak leaves. So do we seriously have to give up the rest? *grin*

He likes to keep people guessing, that is why he put in the profile.
You have a good point about giving up the rest. I think that may be something we as staff would need to discuss.

What he likes to do is give me bloody headaches. lol. *grin* JK.
But when I said 'rogue' I meant, he didn't have a fief. That's allowed right? Rangers without fiefs? You also have a character like that...can't remember who though. Shall have to go look...
Shanna. It was Shanna. *grin* So bored...*cry* lol. :-)
