Gender: Female
Profession: She's currently a ward of the local Ranger (or will be, shortly)
Appearance:
Hight: 5'0 maybe 5'1--give or take a 1/4 of an inch.Personality:
Weight: 145 lbs., even though she doesn't look to weigh even 100 lbs.
Frame/Build: Slim build; wiry frame
Shape: "easy on the eyes", as her deceased brother used to say.
Facial shape: Squarish, with somewhat prominent cheekbones.
Hair: Messy, long brown, curly hair that tumbles to mid-way down her back.
Eyes: Green with chips of hazel brown in them.
Skin: Well-tanned from living out-of-doors, and very dirty, most of the time.
Clothes: Ratty, tattered hand-me-downs that used to be her brothers'. They come in all sizes and colors, but are mostly that dirt-based color that clearly says, "These clothes have not been washed in a mountains age". None of her clothes et washed, unless of course, she falls into the river by accident. On most occassions, she wears a pair of lose-fitting pants, a ragged, long-sleeved shirt, a vest or short-sleeved jerkin, and a rope belt.
Weapons: Lockpicking tools, hands, teeth, feet, etc.....Yes, those lockpicking tools can come quite in handy when jabbing someone's eyes out. She also has a sharp, extra-thin blade, 6 inches long, that she's dubbed a "frog sticker".
Pouch: Lockpicking tools, bits of string, thread, and wire, a scrap of paper or two, a few small pebbles and copper coins, a couple of dull sewing needles, a chip of some sort of exotic wood, a tiny patch of leather, and a bite of dried out food--which varies, depending on what's available
Animals: One old, scruffy, grey, three-legged, one-eyed, battered tomcat with a bad attitude towards everybody but her. She calls him Do-over.
Kind of like the old tomcat, it's "mind your own business, and stay away from me or you'll get it."History:
She has no problem with snitching someone's purse, or picking their pockets when they aren't looking. But anyone touches her, and she's ready to take their eyes out! ---This might be because so many men try to take advantage of her. She's learned to defend herself against such and keeps a policy of "Don't touch me, period".
She likes to know what's going on in and around the city and loves to hear the latest news. She likes to draw, but rarely lets anyone see what she's drawn--not that she's not good, you understand, but rather, because she's afraid that someone will try to cozy up to her with flattery.
She can also sing, but again, rarely does. It's possible that she is just trying to keeping from drawing attention to herself.
She used to be warm and even somewhat friendly and outgoing, when her brother was alive, but now that he's gone, she's built up a defensive network of walls around herself, keeping outhers at a distance. She's afraid that she'll be betrayed by someone again, just like her brother's best friend.
Well, maybe it's not that she's afraid, it's more like that she's not sure.
Dispite this, she has a fierce passion residing within her and a set of morals that she sometimes doesn't follow as closely as she should, seeing as she can steal from someone else's pockets with a clear conscience most of the time. And if someone came along and took the time with her, she would open up to them, showing off that warm and friendly side of herself, as she grew to trust them.
* Ivy Bramble was born Beluah Melone.Additional Information:
*Her father was a herbalist, and her mother was a laundry woman.
* She was the second of three children born to her parents. The other two were her older brother, Myran, and her younger sister, Louise.
* When Beluah was eight, Louise died of pnumonia at the age of five.
*Shortly thereafter, that same year, her parents both died of the same illness. This left Beluah under the care of her brother, Myran, who was 12 at the time.
* The two moved out of their small house, due to being unable to pay the rent, and into a tiny two-room appartment on the other side of town. Myran was able to get a job serving drinks at a bar. (Wheneven he had to bring his sister along, he made sure that she stayed out of sight, behind the bar, in an effort to protect her from those who were of unscruppulous character.)
*When Beluah turned 12, Myran would have stopped bringing her period, if it hadn't been for their landlord eyeing her every time he thought Myran wasn't watching. So instead, Myran made a compromise: Beluah didn't go with him, but she didn't stay home either. She was to hang out near the shopping district and stay out of trouble.
*When Beluah was 14, her brother was killed in a bar fight.
*At the end of that same month, the landlord offered her a deal: she could stay, if she did him certain....favours, in return. Needless to say, by this time she knew and understood what those favours would be, and she refused, fleeing the premises.
*Now on her own, Beluah had no clue what she should do, but it shortly turned out that she didn't have too. She came across an old friend of her brother's-- a Sten Conrade--who very kindly took her in.---Turns out he wasn't so kind-hearted, though. The next week, he made advances. When she turned him down, he got ugly about it, and once again, Beluah fled the premises.
*About the same time, Beluah changed her name from Beluah Melone to Ivy Bramble. She was now officially a street kid.
*Shortly thereafter, she met up with Do-over. The unlikely pair has been together almost two years now.
*In the two years since then, she has been to jail twice, and had no desire to go there again. But here she is. Niether does she have any desire to stay in the city with no prospects-- she wants to make something of herself--but she has no way of getting out of the city....yet.
As it is her third time in prison, she may face more than the usual three days time in the jail as punishment....unless somebody decides that she might not be an entirely hopeless case after all.
(note: I made this character because my sister insisted that I make a female character.... And I gave in.)
