Omensinger Advanced rapier and Maine gauche Skill level 19 Armor: moderate (hard leather jupon, greives & gauntlets as well as a hard leather gorget) fighting Florentine
Omensinger seems to be well recovered from his previous bout with Heathbruin. he took a trouncing even though he won the match and spent some time in the arms of his favorite spy. It seamed to have perked him up a bit and with his left leg wrapped and rubbed He dons his leather jupon and gauntlets as well as the leather grieve plates over his boots as well as a leather gorget to protect his exposed neck and give his shoulders some protection. This was about all he could really wear and not hinder his movement which he depended on tremendously. He moves to the center of the ring and salutes Henry waiting for the horn to begin.

Henry Dell Advanced Category round 3 Skill level: 16 Armor: Full Armor (-6 from your roll)(hardened leather covering same areas as if it were plate mail, with a metal helmet) Shield: yes (they cancel eachother out)
Henry enters the list and notices that his opponent has donned a bit more armor since his last bout with the Scotti warrior. Henry keeps a straight face, but he is worried. The man had remarkable fighting skills, especially since he was supposedly a bard.
He shook hands with Omensinger, "Good luck to you." and then took up a stance, waiting for the horn to sound.

"And to you Henry, you have done very well so far lets give them what they came for!"
Omensinger goes into his fighting posture and freezes for the horn, when it blows he changes his tactics entirely and launche himslef at Henry and jogs to the right hoping to expose his sword arm and make his shield less effective.
He rolls: 6 Right leg (light damage – flesh wound, bruise)
6+19=25-6=19
Omen's total = 19

"I would be delighted." Henry answers in his musical tenor voice. He is prepared when the horn sounds and they commence to fight.
Henry doesn't block fast enough and Omen strikes his leg. It doesn't slow him down though as he swings at Omen's chest.
17 Torso back (severe damage – deep cut, vital organ pierced, spine broken)
17 + 16 - 4 = 29
Henry 29, Omen 19: Henry wins

"Nice shot Henry! Hey I heard there was someone in the crowd offering 2 gold pieces for your shield.......oh no....that was me."
Omen works very hard to penetrate Henry's defence and is recieving some numbing blows to his wrist as he parries with his maine gouche. He finally is able to hook Henry's shield a bit with the crossguard of his dagger and lunges to the left allowing him to strike in under and behind his shield.
He rolls: 20 Critical hit (inflict such a severe injury that death is imminent or a “called” shot)
20+19=39-6=33
Omen's total= 33

"So I heard. It seems there weren't any takers, however." Henry grinned. Omen repays his cockiness with a strong blow to Henry's guts.
"Ooof!" Henry grunts in pain. "Ach! Nicely done! That one is going to leave a serious bruise." He rallies, however, having taken much worse from Dougal and Katrina on different occasions.
20 Critical hit (inflict such a severe injury that death is imminent or a “called” shot)
Repaying the kindness, Henry steps back as he salutes Omen with his sword. "I believe the crowd should be enjoying that." he chuckles.
20 + 16 - 4 = 32
Total 32

My Henry you certainly are good with that sword and your defense is excellent! But tell me have you ever seen this one!
Omen feints hard to the right with his dagger high enough for Henry to have to raise his shield to protect his head from the backhanded wrap shot of the long dagger. When he raises his shield past his eye level Omen quickly spins blocking sword to sword and then thrusting the maine gouche up under his right arm.
He rolls: 3 Left arm (light damage – flesh wound, bruise)
3+19=22-6=16
Omen's total = 16
"HMMM I guess you have! Ah well it has worked before!"

Henry didn't reply this time, having barely saved his skin on that last maneuver. Instead he concentrated on getting through Omen's defenses.
6 Right leg (light damage – flesh wound, bruise)
The blow was a weak one, but then Omen's had been rather feeble as well. Perhaps it was enough.
6 + 16 - 4 = 18 Hernry 18, Omen 16: Henry wins
Score Henry 2 to 1
Henry allows himself a sigh of relief and a quick smile. "Sir Katrina pulled a similar trick and Captain Dougal can just fight downright dirty when he wants to. You should try sparring with them some day. I believe you have the skill to best them - well maybe anyway."

"Well it rarely has to do with skill if you fight dirty! but here we don't fight dirty and in real combat there are no rules! So lets have at it hopefully I can keep within reach for another pass!"
This time Omen tries to take everything Henry can throw at him while he concentrate fully on Henry's footwork and balance looking for an opening. When he sees what he is looking for he commits fully to the lunge.
He rolls: 18 Head (severe damage – cracked skull or unconsciousness)
18+19=37-6=31
Omen's total = 31
He parries a downward sword blow without moving an inch and thrusts his sword in a quick accurate strike strait at Henry's chest just below his neck, slipping between both sword and sheild.

Omen's blow knocks Henry backward, nearly off his feet and so he spins with the momentum in order to stay upright. Swinging all the way around as fast as he can, just like Katrina taught him, he counters with a blow of his own.
12 Left arm (severe damage – deep cut, bone breakage) 12 + 16 - 4 = 24
Dizzy from the spin and finding it very painful to breath because of Omen's last blow, Henry's shot is less than spectacular.
Henry 24, Omen 31: Omen wins
Score Omen 2 to Henry 2
"Ooo, now that was sneaky." Henry admonished the bard. "I thought you said we weren't fighting dirty?"

"I am afraid that is the opposite of sneaky, That is what my master called a viper strike. It depends totaly on concentration and speed. but it rarely works twice so you only use it when you need it! Well Henry are you ready for the last flury, win or lose it has been a pleasure!"
Omen gives a fencer's salute and sets for combat. They are a flurry of sword blows parrie shield blocks and footwork till Omen thinks he sees his best chance.
He rolls: 20 Critical hit (inflict such a severe injury that death is imminent or a “called” shot)
20+19=39-6=33
Omen's total= 33
Oman's last shot is just good solid technique with the added benefit of a fencer's limberness and footwork. He Raises his left hand for a crossing downward slash and as Henry raises his shield to block, Omen lunges with his right leg folded and and his left leg trailing and he squats down as low as he can driving the point of his sword up under Henry's shield and into the center of his belly wear his armor keeps from renewing his navel!

Henry reels from the blow and tries to throw a shot at Omen's head with the hilt of his sword, but it was not strong enough to do more than mildly rattle Omen's teeth.
10 Glancing blow (very little to no damage inflicted)
10 + 16 -4 = 22

Match: Omensinger
Henry salutes again with his sword and then sheaths it. He is panting, partly from xhertion and partly from the last blow. He holds out his hand, "Great match, MiLord. You are one hell of a swordsman. I wish you the best in what is left of the tourney. If you are ever in Norgate, look me up. You will always be welcome at my fire."

Omen removes his gauntlet and shakes Henry's hand warmly. "Please there is little nobility in me my freind call me Omensinger or Omen and I will most assuredly take you up on that fire, I hope you and your men like a few bawdy ballads as that's how I pay for my supper! Well fought good Sir you are a credit to your Knight, Sir Katrina should be very proud!"
