She feints and then drops the tip of her blade and moves in for a strike.

Brandwyn was none too sure of herself, never having fought this type of weaponry before. She had to improvise to stay alive.
10 Glancing blow (very little to no damage inflicted)
10 + 8 = 18 - 6 = 12

Aribjorn is a bit more prepared now for his opponent.
But to no avail she still sneaks in under his guard
He rolls: 3 Left arm (light damage – flesh wound, bruise)
3+8=11-4= 7

Marvelling at her luck so far, and knowing it had little to do with her skill, she again danced in, light on her feet and tried to hit him again.

Ari now had her rythm and started to understand how to defend himself and strike effectively

Shaken up a bit, Brandwyn lunged at him.
19 Neck (severe damage – deep cut, broken vertebrae, throat pierced)

Brandwyn comes back with a remarkable shot that sets him off balannce but he twists to counter and strike with all he's got.
He rolls: 18 Head (severe damage – cracked skull or unconsciousness)
18+8=26-4=22
Ari barely avoids the blow while striking Brandwyn, exposed by the remarkable manuever

Surprised by his sudden ferocious attack, Brandwyn cries out in pain as one of the axes lands a resounding blow. "Ow! That hurt!" She exclaims as she is sending another blow his way.
2 Miss (no damage inflicted)
Her sword swings harmlessly by him.

She immediately follows up with a counter swing.

She prepares to duck another mighty blow from the young Skandian.

Ari makes to defend her attack, "Sorry about dat Brantvin, you surprised me!" He goes to help her up and gives her a few moments to compose herself. He nods and she starts again.
Aribjorn Rolls: 18 Head (severe damage – cracked skull or unconsciousness)
They both land shots on each other of approximately the same skill and magnitude but Ari's Bracer deflects Brandwyns sword tip at the last moment.
18+8=26-4=22
Aribjorn barely wins and bows respectfully to the young Scout congradulating her exuberently.

Brandwyn returns the bow and smiles at him brightly. "You are as skilled with axes as you are handsome, young sir!" She shakes his hand and makes her way out of the ring.

Ari blushes a bit and kicks at the dust with his toe "Aw gee I vas just lucky you should haff vone! ve need to practice togedder again sometime!" And he raises the two axes crossed above his head in a Skandian salute and trotts off the feild.
