The following is a modern-day reimagination of the Triad of Four. The content contained herein may not be representative of the actual group on Halt's Playground.
Dan Michaels, the lead programmer, led Chris into the next room. "This is the armory. You'll be taking locker number three." Michaels pointed to one of the corners where a set of empty shelves, racks, and general storage space was set into the wall. Chris looked around and noted that the other three lockers were closed and had large, white numbers painted on the metal pull-down doors.
"The lockers are passcode protected." Michaels gestured at a small screen with a number pad on the wall. "You'll get yours when you pick up your gear. Come on. Let's go meet the team."
The pair entered the lounge area. Michaels introduced each member individually. "That's Talon at the table." A man dressed in a plain-looking t-shirt and jeans turned around briefly to wave. "He's the sniper." Chris could see a field-stripped M14 EBR lying on the table that was in the process of being cleaned.
"The guy on the computer is Relic, communications specialist. Mirror is just behind him." Relic glanced away from his screen long enough to nod in Chris' direction, but his fingers never stopped typing. Chris flashed a smile back and looked behind Relic to the assassin wearing urban camouflage and combat boots.
Mirror was holding up a newspaper and appeared to be deep in thought. After a moment, the newspaper was lowered and Chris beheld a young blond woman. "Mirror, team lead," she said.
"Team, this is Gyro, your new number three." Michaels offered his hand for a shake. "Welcome to the Triad of Four."
