Appearance:
Elya stands at about 5'5" tall. She is slim, but not the kind of slim that can only be gained with anorexia. She has an hourglass figure, but has subtle muscle tone from the hours spent with her mother and father in the forge and wood shop. Her eyes are a radiant green. Her eyes seem to sparkle in the light and glow in the shadows. Her eyelashes are long, and her eyes are medium sized. She has thin eyebrows that she plucks herself. Her face is as smooth as a freshly forged sword. Her nose is small and curves up slightly at the tip. Freckles speckle themselves on her face just on the ridge of her nose to the corner of her eyes. Her hands, are rough, but also very soothing to feel as they are always warm. Her legs are built for endurance, not speed so rather than the muscle being a bulging knot in her calf, it is stretched out so that it wears down less easily. Her skin is sun-kissed and glows as the sunlight touches it. She has a comforting smile that is able to warm a person from head to toes. She usually wears long elegant dresses that flounce about as she walks. She carries a satchel for all of her materials that she needs to be a traveling smith and she also has a necklace that has a pendant created by her father. It was a mere coil with a ruby held inside of it. Her right hand has a bracelet crafted out of white gold. As for her hair, it is a fiery auburn color, with a little bit more brown and red in it rather than blonde. This dark red compliments her eyes very well. She wears her hair down about a few inches longer than shoulder length. Her hair naturally curls and has a bounce to it. When she walks, her step has a spring to it, making her look very flirty. Her weapons of choice are a one handed sword in one hand, and a dagger in the other. She carries these from two sheaths on her belt that she wears on outfit. This belt is made of a leather material. Her outfit usually consists of a short sleeved leather jerkin. Underneath this jerkin is a vest made out of a very light chain mail. She wears leather gloves that hug her hands very tightly, allowing her to have freedom of her fingers. As being a righty, her sword lies in the left hand sheath and her dagger into the right. That way she can cross draw which is easier than reach drawing. Her pants are also made of a flexible leather, and she has chain mail built into it down until the knees. As for shoes, she wears the standard leather boots.Personality:
Also, Elya crafted a hood made of leather that has a face mask that can be clipped on and off to the opposite side. When it is unclipped, it dangles from the right side of the hood, and when it is clipped, it covers all but her eyes. This mask is made of chain mail. She usually doesn't wear her hood for blacksmith business.
Elya in thief mode, is very cunning and sly. She tends to talk often to distract people from what she is really doing. She also always tries to make herself sound like she is very stupid. This way, she can manipulate people. However, Elya is the exact opposite of that. She is extremely smart and intelligent. Also as a thief, she is very reserved, never giving away to much information. She likes to flirt around with her targets that she is talking too, her looks usually lure most guys away from thinking she could do any harm.History:
Elya as a sneak is very quit. She talks very little and only gives the occasional nod. She is also very watchful, alway looking to see her next target. In this form of her, she likes to seem sad a lot of the time because people do not generally bother to talk to or even look twice with sad people. She is also very sly and mischievous, always looking to cause trouble without people knowing it was her. Her favorite thing to do is pickpocket someone and then transfer their gold into someone else's pockets. On top of al this however, Elya is always suspicious. She always has her hands on the hilts of her blades, just in case complications arise.
When Elya is an attacking thief also known as a bandit, she is very harsh. She uses her tongue as much as she does her weapons, stinging people with the bite of her words. She threatens a lot which causes people to be uneasy. She is also very demanding. Never taking no for an answer. She comes across as cold hearted or soulless. In this state she is also very cocky, always being confident of her abilities. Generally she is also not merciful. Always either gagging and binding her targets after she gets what she wants... or killing them. She is very dark and her aura comes off as raw power and lust for money and gold.
As a blacksmith, Elya's whole personality changes. She turns into a happy girl who likes to converse with many. She is very generous and does not charge much, sometimes she charges nothing. As she works she talks and she is very helpful, always explaining to them how to care for the items she gives them. She always compliments everyone who asks for her help, and she does not mind a bit of criticism. She does free armor and sword repairs. Also she crafts armor out of not only metals, but out of cloth and leather. Along with al that, she is also very caring, always doing her best to make the finest weapons and armor. She puts dedication and time into her work. If a sickly person comes by, she offers him a ride on her horse Shadowmere. However, as a blacksmith the horse's name is Arvak.
Elya grew up in Seacliff fief with a mother and her father. She was forced to mature fast because she was needed for help in the shops. Her father was the smith of Seacliff, his name was Hempt Woods. He taught Elya how to craft fine armor and weapons. He also taught her how to fight with a sword, she grew to be quite good after years of practice. As she grew older, she became more interested in the art of smithing. She would often take requests and do the tasks rather than relaying them to her father. Her mother, Janine, noticed Elya's love for smithing. She grew envious because she wished her daughter to be a bowyer like her. Janine showed Elya the ropes of fletching arrows and crafting bows, but Elya soon lost interest. One day, Elya asked her father if she could use the forge for her own reason. Her father couldn't see a reason why not, so he allowed her to. Elya spent the whole day trying to perfect the concept design for her swerve dagger. After the whole day, she had some blueprints. She spent the next week creating the complex weapon, and finally, she made it. After seeing this, Hempt decided his daughter was an extraordinary smith and should follow in his steps. At first Elya accepted, but then she noticed a thief named Alopocate visiting the fief's ranger. She immediately recognized Alopocate because of his renowned horse, Alopia. No one else recognized him, but she did because she would listen to the ranger's talking. Apparently, his horse was even faster than a ranger's horse.Additional Information:
Elya started to get into conversations with Alopocate, careful to keep at least an arm's length away. Soon she began to visit him every day and to inquire him about his profession. She finally persuaded him by flipping her hair a lot to teach her how to be an avid thief. He showed her the ropes, showing her how to distract people as she talked to them and he even showed her how to pickpocket someone by simply bumping into them and slipping two fingers into their pocket, taking out a purse or coins with those two fingers. He showed her how to correctly cut straps from over arm money pouches and he showed her how to undo the pouches that people dangle from their belts. He taught her how to fight with a dagger, and when he saw the swerve dagger, Alopocate asked her to smith one for him. As return for his training. Upon further training, he found her weak points and her strongpoints for thievery. Her weak points where breaking and entering, also she wasn't as good at climbing as most. She was very inaccurate while throwing her swerve dagger, which coupled as a throwing knife. He decided she would have to master these on her own and he would practice on improving her already good skills. After a month, Alopocate had to leave from town and live in the forest to avoid detection. Elya visited him everyday, and her parents grew suspicious at her absence. After three months at her training, Elya was pretty decent at dagger fighting. She was very good at sneaking because people hardly suspected a girl. She was also good at distraction pick pocketing for the same reason. Her pick pocketing could be improved, but she would have to work on that for her own. Alopocate confessed that his real name was Eric Jambya, and that Alopocate was his thieves name. Elya decided she wanted a thieves name to and she became Nightingale from that day on. Alopocate then announced he had to go before a ranger caught him. When he mounted Alopia, Elya asked him her final question.
"Where can i get a horse like that?"
Alopocate told her to go to Arradi and to go past the furthest mapped reaches of it. A band of horse breeders live their and they have small colts that they raised and trained. These horses vary in color, but they all have the same max speed.
With a curt nod, Alopia took off like a bullet, quickly blurring into nothing more than an image in the distance.
Elya announced to her father that she was going to become a traveling blacksmith. He was ecstatic and he hugged her for a very long time. He then presented her with the bracelet and the necklace. Her mother refused to talk to her, giving her only a large satchel to carry her materials in.
She travelled to Arradi at te age of 17, and went to wear she was told to go, true to is word, the horse breeder was their. However, when Elya asked for a horse so darkly colored it looked 100% black, she was refused. The man explained the horse was on reserve for an important person and that the horse was special. Elya grew enraged and she killed the man, taking the horse as her own. She named him Shadowmere and immediately fell in love with him. The horse had very dark amber eyes that looked almost red. It was great contrast to the darkly colored horse.
The next two years, she learned how to ride a horse. She did rather well because the horse took padded steps that never bounced.
Elya began her thieving career before her blacksmith career, gaining enough money to be able to buy a hammer some tongs, a lot of metals, and some leather.
She would rent out forges in towns and people came to her due to her low prices. She was a very happy girl.
Elya has a ring that she wears that she calls her Nightingale ring. It has a symbol embossed onto it that resembles a a bird made entirely out of bones. She heats up the ring and then brands her enemies with it leaving them a permanent burn of her symbol.
