Name: Tuor Amandil
Age: 17
Gender: Male
type of apprentice: Ranger
Appearance: Tuor is a handsome boy. He is very tall, around 6'3 in height, with a slightly muscular build, dark skin, deep brown eyes that boarder on pitch black, and straight, shoulder-length black hair which he usually ties in a pony-tail.
Although he is obviously a ranger he chooses to distinguish himself from the rest of the corps by wearing a black cloak, not a grey-green one; though he does own a standard ranger cloak and will use it should the need arise. He also wears a black cotton jacket, a pair of black trousers, black soft-soled boots (so as to make as little noise as possible when moving), brown gloves, and a black scarf which he wraps around the bottom half of his face (his mouth and nose) during missions.
Attitude: Tuor is usually a very serious person when working, but can be extremely sociable, charismatic, and even charming when around friends and family. He is very intelligent and will often think things through before making a move; however, he is not above acting rashly and impulsively when his emotions cloud his judgement. Tuor is extremely determined, but wise enough to realise when to pull out of a fight.
Tuor is also extremely confident, this is often viewed by him as both a strength and a weakness. Because of this confidence, however, he is a capable orator (public speaker) and debater, an exceptionally skilled singer, and (when combining these skills with his intelligence) an excellent leader. His skills in these fields often led him to wonder if he should become a scribe or diplomat; but he couldn't resist the alure of being a ranger.
Tuor doesn't truly believe in the idea of 'honour' in a battle and would never hesitate to cheat if it meant living to fight another day. After all: "The way of the ranger is that of deception". Thus he is more comfortable fighting with a bow than a sword. That is why he favoured the profession of ranger over that of a knight.
Tuor's skill at stealth and archery are prodigious, but this is balances out by the fact that he rarely uses his daggers (though his abilities with them are relatively sufficient), and he despises horses and ponies, choosing to go by foot if he has the chance.
History: Tuor was born and raised to a noble family of the Meric feif. When growing up he was always interested in the ideas of combat and stealth, and despite his size he was blessed with the ability to sneal around undetected. His skills in this field were far better than the average person, but not quite that of a ranger.
He also posessed incredible aptitude with the bow, having been trained in its use by his parents from the age of five. Again, his skill was not quite ranger standard, but he could outshoot anybody in the feif, even soldiors.
At the age of 14, one year earlier than most apprentices, Tuor could no-longer wait, and so approached the ranger of Meric (Gilan) and begged to be taken on as his apprentice. Gilan would have refused had it not been for the inhabitants of the feif insisting that he would be a valuable asset to the ranger corps. So Gilan prepared a test for him- Tuor was supposed to follow the young ranger until sunset, without being spotted more than five times. It was a difficult challenge, but the boy finally managed to be seen only three times (twice by Gilan and once by a farmer that Tuor hadn't seen).
Tuor has now trained with Gilan for over three years. As a result of this his stealth skills (which were already ghost-like) can only be matched by his master out of all the ranger's in the core. His archery skills have been compared to, and even said to surpass, Halt's, and he has been trained in use of the sword (though he is average with this weapon). However, after all of this training he still dislikes horses, despite coming from a noble family, and rarely rides his ranger pony, 'equus'.
Other: The only other ranger to use a sword (albeit not perfectly)
