Edvige
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Type of apprentice: Knight
Appearance: Short, dark hair that comes to her mid-neck. She is about 5'11and has hazel eyes. She is lean and basically got into the battleschool because of connections. She does have muscles and certain grit, though, because of her training. She fights with a sword and has a couple daggers at her side. A square shield is in her hand when they use it at training sessions, too.
Attitude: Edvige is very determined, and stubborn. She has knowledge of the land around her, more so than other Battleschool students. But if it was a test of strengths, she wouldn't win. (She's great for endurance, though.) And, most likely, she'd want to prove herself. She always has to prove herself, something that came from her time as a child.
She think girls are as good as men, and that it's stupid that, mostly, men fight. Edvige just thought the only reason she would ever be a warrior would be connections and her father. She had other intentions. But now that she's a knight, she intends to prove to everyone that people are all equal. She is also believes every person should be given a chance at life, that no one should be killed as a child.
Edvige has a battle horse, one she likes very much. She likes animals, but only to an extent, because bugs, insects and spiders make her shiver.
History: Edvige grew up spoiled. Her father was a knight, one that was certainly one of the best in Araluen's army. He had good connections, of course. And many other things, like his daughter.
He didn't particularly like his daughter. After all, sons were better. All girls did was become couriers and such. But he didn't know his daughter was a little different.
Edvige was always out to prove herself. She hated the fact that her father marked her down as useless. One day, when she was seven, she went to him to see what bothered him about her so much. After all, there was absolutely nothing wrong with her.
He flat out told her that he wanted a son, and that she was useless to him. Needless to say, that infuriated her. She went out to prove herself, of course.
After her father realized there was no chance he was going to have a son (his wife died), he treated her rather rudely. He made her attend Battleschool, though she didn't exactly mind; it was a way to prove herself.
And she's been there since she started, training, and waiting for her day at battle.
