"Out," she said simply, walking backwards out of the house and into a small clearing between the houses. Her's was the only house that actually face the clearing. All the others faced outwards. It made it a good hideout.

Badger glared as he now walked behind her. He was sick of running, of hunting the man responsible for forcing him to do so. But what he wanted was currently an impossibility. There was no way he could bring that danger to Marina.
His anger pailed at the thought of her. He'd risked a chance of going to see her when he stopped for a night in Araluen before boarding back to Teutlandt. He'd also risked the truth when he'd asked around to get her accepted as a Ranger. He wondered how she was doing, if she knew who he was now. His throat tightened at the possibility. He both wanted and feared her knowledge.

Kadara led the way out of the maze of walls and windows and as they emerged onto the main road and the morning emerged over the horizon, she turned to Badger, scrutinizing him. "The day has come. The world is our oyster. Got anything you planned to do today?"

Badger flicked his eyes toward her, wondering briefly if she'd snapped it this time. A few dead bodies in one night wasn't unusual for an assassin. But what did he really know about her? Besides her being an assassin and on the opposite side of the law as he? Nothing.
So he didn't comment, waiting instead for her to continue.

"Fine... We'll do it my way then." Kadara led the way up the road and into the woods around the town. She walked in silence, waiting for Badger to start asking questions, which she knew he would.

Badger let the silence drone on for a few minutes before stopping and repeating his question from before, "Where are we going?"
It wasn't just curiosity asking this time, but an uneasiness settling deep in his shoulderblades. He didn't like not knowing what was supposed to happen within the immediate future. He didn't like not having a plan in case things didn't go that way.

Kadara smirked and said, "You'll see." In truth, she was just walking, waiting for a situation to present itself to them. It's how she spent most days. It helped to her to wind down.

[anyone want to join? Step from the shadows and meet her, that kind of thing?]

Evan stepped out of the shadows and recognized Kadara instantly,as he had trained himself to do with any guild member. "Hey, Kadara, what are you doing with him" He put emphasis on him, for he recognized the ranger symbol automaticly. He pulled out his Yabreeand casually aimed it at the ranger.

Badger pulled out his own weapons as he rolled onto the balls of his feet and brought his arms up in defense. His eyes were calm as he did so, having learned that in a fight there wasn't really much room for emotions of any sort.
He didn't want to attack first in case this was all just a mistake.

Kadara sighed, rolling her eyes. She suspected Evan would show up eventually, but forgot about his usual reaction to rangers. "You men," she said. "Always wanting to fight. Put it down, Evan. Geoffrey's a friend. I saved his life... twice. He owes me." She turned to the ranger and said, "Well, ranger; Meet my boss... Now both of you, shake hands and make nice. We've got a problem that needs taking care of."

Evan flipped the Yabree in the air, moving to let it fall in the sheath. "So, Kadara , what's the problem" He asked. "Anything having to do with him" He added, pulling out a strip of venison from his pocket. He picked it up at the inn,so he might as well it now.

Kadara shot Badger a quick look that clearly said, 'Don't talk yet,' and then turned to Evan saying, "We got attacked last night. Four freelancers who knew there was a connection between me and you. The obvious problem is the freelancers. They're stealing business. The less obvious problem... there's a leak." She touched Evan's arm, shaking her head and whispered into his ear, "Try and look a little professional in front of him, huh?"

Badger fought the urge to snort at her having saved him not once, but twice and thus owing her not once, but twice. He'd killed three of her enemies, not his and had also retreived information for her. His debt, in his mind's eye, had been more than paid. If anything, she was now in his debt, thus owing him.
Liking his train of thought, but refusing to smile, he sheathed his own weapons after Evan had put away his.
"Well, ranger; Meet my boss... Now both of you, shake hands and make nice. We've got a problem that needs taking care of."
Badger kept his arms firmly by his side. He didn't give handshakes anymore (at least not to anyone he didn't trust and even then, it was rare), not after nearly being killed because of one.
He did though, look the man over again, this time with a slow eye. So this was the leader of the Assassin's Guild? Interesting...
The man was tall, well over seven feet. He couldn't really tell much else about his physical condition because of the black cloak sheilding his body (OOC: taken from his profile). A symbol very much like his weapon was embroidered on there - the symbol of his either his rank or the Guild itself. Badger wasn't sure on that account, but he was on another.
If he could figure out their headquarter location in Araluen and from there find the rest... They'd been looking for it for a while now, but with the war going on, they hadn't the time to keep searching. And Badger was no longer a ranger. At least, not for now.

"So, Kadara, what seems to be the problem" Evan said, completely ignoring Geoffry. If the problem was seuriues, then he would take care of it with himself and... maybe... No, he was to young. 'I'll just take Starseer' Evan thought. If it wasn't, then he would let Kadara handle it.
