(Ooc: thanks!)
Emily looked at Ryills. "So, my Lady, tell me what you know about Lord Barney?"

]Ryills frowned, she wasn't used to holding. She has places to see, things to do then to wait for some stuck up noble. "Not much, just that he is full of himself."
Shrugging off Emily she hissed, "no way. I'm not being patient, Paulin told me that I shouldn't have to wait!"
Ryills stood up and refused to sit down, "no, I demand to see Lord Barney, now. I am to deliver this letter personally to him." She said keeping her voice steady.

Emily put a calming hand on her shoulder. "I know how you feel, but we need to wait." The Chamberlain nodded. "He is busy. Listen to the woodswoman." Emily had left her cloak on Spirit.

Ryills expression didn't change as she looked at Emily but her voice said it all, "wait?, it's disrespectful. To me, to the diplomatic service and you also. " She sat down on the chair, "and including he doesn't see you as a Ranger." She retorted. "Can you do your Ranger stuff? Make it quicker?" Furry and anger was written over her face, gone was the calm expression, "and what I know about this guy." She snapped, "is he really doesn't care much, as long as he gets his drinks and his money." She have a quick laugh, "doesn't give a dang to anybody unless they are Nobel."

Emily shook her head in apology to the Chamberlain. She knelt in front of the Courier. "Yes, I know your frustrated, and you're angry, but we have no control over the Lord of the castle. As Rangers and Couriers we can't let our anger get the best of us. It'll only make you enemies and less likely to get to do stuff when you graduate."

Ryills sat down, Anger sketched across her face, "if you say so." She muttered staring at the ground. Ryills knew that Emily was right, but still she couldn't help but feeling annoyed. ----
The chamberlain left the room, that courier was so insistent. "Lord Barney, the courier from Redmont had a letter for you and is waiting for you."
Lord Barney wasn't the most attractive man met, the years haven't been kind to him or his body, coming to the point where he rarly got up and did things, but preferred to sit in his chair looking out the window, which he was doing now. He waved his hand dismissively, "yeah, sure, could you bring me some tea and show her in." He said in a bored tone not looking at her chamberlain. The chamberlain nodded, "yes sir." -------
Ryills looked up as chamberlain came in, "Lord Barney has time to see you know." Ryills stood up, gone was her anger and replaced on her face was one of a pleasant smile, "Wonderful, thank you" she said her voice soft and sweet.

Ryills followed the chamberlain with Emily close on her heels and was shown in . Now she honestly thought Lord Barney would be me impressive, but she was sorely mistaken, in front of her was a overweight old guy, she cringed a little, his lack of dressing was a site for sore eyes.
"Courier Lady Perrie." The Chamberlain said, not acknowledging Emily what so ever. Ryills walked forward and handed The Lord the letter , "from castle Redmont, Lady Pauline request you read it and have a response." Ryills said, keeping her voice level and looking The Lord in the eyes. Barney nodded taking the letter and looking at it but not reading it "interesting, and when are you needing the response."
Ryills resist the urge to sigh, "by the time I leave." She said

Emily shook her head and leaned over to whisper in Ryills' ear. "Make him read it now." She whispered. "Its your job to wait for his response while he reads it, then write it in your report."

Ryills cleared her throat, "Sir, I need you to read it now and give me your response." she said trying to keep her voice steady.
Lord Barney looked up at her, "I will read it when I have time." this time Ryills sorta lost it, "Sir, I insist you read it now, or my report to Lady Pauline will discribe in exact detail how you handle the messengers and how you, sir, are incapable of even getting up or the time to read it. That you wasted my time, and her time."
She placed both hands on his desk and stared him down. Lord Barney seemed to cower under her, and saw in her eyes she was not kidding. "Alright, alright.." he muttered.
Ryills straightened up, "Glad we are on the same terms sir." her voice returned to a sweet charming voice unlike the low tone she used earlier.
It took quite a few minutes, but Lord Barney, sweating nervously, read the letter and wrote his response and handed it to the 16 year old girl. "Put in a good word for me?" he said, Ryills smiled, "Of course. Good day sir." she said and followed the chamberlian out with Emily on her heels. Once they reached outside, Ryills breathed a sigh of relief, "Well that was eventful..." she turned to Emily, "Thank you for helping me back there. I really appreciate it."

Emily smiled at her. "My pleasure, My Lady." She laughed. "That's the first time I've seen a noble cower like that!"

Ryills shrugged, "they try to come off as threatening , but really fail, he didn't seem like the fighting type. All words, no talk."
She looked around looking for a stool to get up on Frank. "So I just used by best weapon." She said frowning, and turning to Emily "words. That's my weapon."

"Well," Emily said, mounting Spirit. "they are sharper than any knife I know." She put her cloak back on. "And in any case, the Lord was stuck up. Too bad there isn't a moat!"

Ryills laughed, "that would be funny." She put her foot in the stirrup and swung up on Frank, "why are you so big.." She muttered to Frank fixing her robe.
"Where to next?"

"Just anywhere, really!" Emily said, smiling. "Maybe into the forest a ways. It's a pretty day, and I want to go for a ride."
