As Damien walked around trying to find information, he gets the feeling that someone is following him. Going down an alley he slips one of his knives into his hand. Hiding behind a wall, he waits for his follower to come up behind him. Unfortunately, his follower turns out to be a stray young dog. Sighing and putting his knife in its proper place on his scabbard, Damien squatted down, extended his hand, smiled and said, "Hey there little buddy, where are your parents?"The dog sniffed his hand and immediately began to lick it. Damien grinned even wider and said, "Well I have a little meat here in my pocket so eat up." He took the meat out of his pocket and handed it to the dog which ate it voraciously. Damien stood up and decided to check Hap to see if Red might have left something there that might be of use. As Damien left the alley, the dog continued to follow him. Turning around, Damien said, "If you are gonna follow me, mind as well stay right by me. Alright, come on then. We've got work to do." The dog then gave a happy bark and pranced up to Damien side. The pair then headed to the stable.

Red was roughly hauled off the horses' back, and dumped on the ground. The back of his head clipped a rock, and he slipped back into unconsciousness.
He awakened a while later, to find himself bound to the trunk of a tree in a sitting position. A careful look around revealed two guards seated close to the camp's fireplace, talking in low voices. Aside from a glance in his direction every once in a while, they basically ignored him.
The sound of footsteps returning to the camp told Red that there was more than a few living in this camp. He decided to pretend that he was still unconscious, at least until he had an idea of what was going on.

Damien and the dog went to the stable and noticed that Hap was still there. 'Hmm... this is not good. Red wouldn't leave Hap behind unless he was captured. That means that I have a week to wait before I can get help. I really hate following orders sometimes, but if he was captured, I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. Well, I guess that I will gather information for a week, and if he is not back by then, I will have to concoct a rescue plan.' thought Damien as he sat down on the ground. The dog noticed that it's new master was sad and placed it's head at the base of his feet. Looking at the dog, Damien smiled and said, "Well I've gotta get a name for ya, so how about Fenrir?" The dog seemed to like the name as it began to wag its tail against the ground. Damien then stood up and said, "Well Fenrir let's go information gathering."

three days later:
Red dashed between the thickly grown trees, and darted through the undergrowth, slipping beneath a fallen log and lying there as he tried to catch his breath. The shouts of his pursuers reached a crescendo as they drew closer, then began to die out as they continued onward, past his hiding place. He listened until he could barely hear them, then slithered out from beneath his shelter, and took off again, this time taking a new direction-- one that would bring him closer to La Rivage.

Three days after Red had disappeared, Damien had found next to nothing about his disappearance. Sighing, Damien sat down with Fenrir beside him. Damien had just finished taking care of Hap and Equis. "Well Fenrir, we have four days to go until I have to go find someone of my similar occupation. Lets see. All we know is that he was hit over the head by a big guy. Man, this stinks. Come on lets go see if there is anything else we can figure out." said Damien as he stood up and walked in direction Red was last seen walking. Fenrir wagged his tail and followed his master.

Red picked his way through the thick undergrowth outside of La Rivage. He paused, watching, waiting to see what might transpire. It looked normal enough, but again, from experience, it probably wasn't.
'Well, no since waiting out here until the rest of the party catches up.' he thought, and started toward the town once more, being careful to keep out of the sight of anyone who might be looking his way.

Damien walked through La Rivage, and so far no luck. Sighing, Damien said, "Come on Fenrir, maybe we will find more intelligence on the outskirts of town." Damien and Fenrir then headed for the outskirts, with no idea of what might be waiting for them.

Red slipped into the outskirts of town and was easing his way through the shadows of a trash-littered, back alleyway, when he heard someone calling his name. From their tone of voice, it sounded as though they weren't sure if it were him. Clinging to this hope, he stayed frozen against one wall of the alleyway.

As Damien reached the outskirts of town he noticed someone who looked a lot like Red. Deciding to take a chance and give away his position, Damien called out, "Hello, anybody home? Anybody home that goes by the name of Red? It's me, Damien?" After he called out, Damien gave Fenrir a silent order to stay by his side. Just in case it wasn't Red, Damien slipped his hand onto one of his knives.

When Red heard Damien's voice, he sighed with relief and slumped against the brick wall. "It's me Damien. How's everything been going?" he asked.

Damien gave a sigh of relief and slipped the knife back into its spot in the scabbard. Giving a signal to Fenrir, the dog relaxed. "Got worried there for a second. Everything has been good with me. What happened to you?" asked Damien.

"Oh, nothing much. Clobbered over the head by some guy, who loaded me onto a horse and shipped me out to the middle of nowhere. Got loose, left 'em a trail, came back here. Found out some interesting information, but I got to scare up more for it to even make sense. That about sums it up. How about you? Found anything out while I've been.. away?"
Red slouched toward the alleyway's opening as he spoke.

Damien replied, "I found out nothing. I wasn't even told as to why there are navy ships from back home docked here. On a side note, got myself a new partner. Red, meet Fenrir. He started following me and has been somewhat helpful towards gathering intelligence. Anyway, sounds like you had some ordeal. Wanna head back to the inn and get some food and drink?"

"Hi Fenrir. Sure sounds good to me-- I'm starved! On another side note, what's the name of the inn we're staying at, hm, and have you seen many of those lazy bums with the weird bear-paw pendant thingys around? Or anyone from our neck of the woods by any chance?"

"Actually, the name of the inn is in Gallican. So I only recognize the inn by look. No I haven't seen anyone with a weird bear-paw thing around their neck. But then again, I could have just missed it. And, well their seems to be sailors on the navy ships. Otherwise, I have found no one from back home." replied Damien.
