"Hmm. I see." Red muttered to himself, as they turned out of the alleyway and onto one of Gallica's more crowded streets. "Not noticed anyone watching your every move? Hmm.. well then, I think we'll head for the inn then, and get something to eat, then... we'll see what happens next."
(OOC: Do you want to try to join the others or not?)

~~OOC: Yeah sure.~~ "Yeah sure," said Damien. He then thought of something and said, "After we eat, we should probably check on the horses. I know that Hap would be happy to see you."

(OOC: O.K., I'm checking to see if someone want to let us.)(They'll let us join them.)
Red grinned. "How is he anyway? Hasn't busted down the door yet has he?" he asked as he patted Damien's newest edition to their small troupe.

~~Okay~~
Damien replied, "Almost did. After I told him that you were missing. Took a while for him to calm down. Anyways, he is fine." Fenrir, of course, was wagging his tail happily.

Red looked at his apprentice in amazement, then shook his head and wondered why he was surprised. After all, Damien had shown that he was good with animals-- his training of Equis was superb for someone just starting out his career in the Corps. He had to agree with himself that Damien had shown an intriguingly new approach to some of the problems that they''d been faced with over the course of their mission. Not that he would tell him so...yet.
He frowned as he turned to another subject, one that had been bothering him for some time. Some things that he'd heard spoken in that camp had him truly puzzled, but he couldn't think of who might know what they'd meant about any of it except... "Hmmm, Crowley." he muttered and narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. Then he nodded decisively, as if to answer some unspoken question.'I think it's time to send another report to Crowley.' He turned to Damien and asked abruptly, " How does the food taste at that inn we're staying at?"

Damien grinned even wider as he heard Red mention the food. "The food is... amazing. It is some of the best stuff I have ever had." answered Damien. 'Hmm, who is this Crowley that he mentioned. Eh, I won't press the issue out in public. For all I know, that person could be some Ranger-extraordinaire,' thought Damien.

"Hmm. Amazing, huh? Well, no one ever thought to well on an empty stomach. Inn first, then report. Lead the way Damien." Red grinned. "I still don't know where the inn is!"

Damien then said, "Okay then, let's go." Damien then lead the way to the inn. After finding it, Damien said, "Well here it is, the something-or-other inn. That's what I call it since I can't read Gallican. Well, let's head on inside." After saying that, Damien pushed open the door and entered.

When Red had finished eating (Damien was right--the food WAS amazing), he decided it was time to begin phase two--report to Crowley. Pushing back his chair, he glanced at Damien. "Want to come with me? It's guaranteed to give you a headache." He made a face. "You have to come up with just the right words to describe everything and only so no one overreacts to your news. I appear to have a rather unique way with such words." he added cryptically.

Damien nodded and said with a puzzled look on his face, "Okay, yeah sure. Just a few things. Where are we going, should we bring the horses, and why am I going to get a headache?"

Red looked quizzically back at Damien, then realized that he hadn't told Damien where they were going or why. "Oh.., I thought it might be a good idea to let Crowley know that we're still alive. Thinking up a diplomatic way of saying it will give you a headache, unless you like that sort of thing. We can leave the horses here. It shouldn't hurt them too much."
The walk was peaceful-- no one trailed them-- which was quite alright with Red, as he had no weapons to speak of, except his bare hands. Upon reaching the small shack designated "customs office", Red requested a piece of paper, ink, and a quill. He was about to dip the quill into the inkwell, when he paused and looked at Damien. "Can you think of anything better to say then "Still alive"? That's about all that I can ever come up with."

Damien nodded and walked with Red to the customs office. Staying silent for the trip, Damien heard Red ask him something. "Hmm? Ah... I guess maybe say still alive and everything is okay on this end, at least for now. You might want to mention something about being captured and what you found out. If not, I would say that everything is fine on this end." replied Damien.

"Well, it's better then what I came up with." Red quickly scribbled out the usual three lines, folded the message, and handed it to the man seated behind the desk. "Give this to the captain of the next Araluan ship that heads there. Tell them to give it to the mail when they get there." he ordered. The man nodded his understanding, and Red turned to leave. "Come on, its gittin' kind of late out." he yawned.
As they were turning off the street that led to the docks, a man rushed up to them and began to babble away at them in what Red could only assume was Gallican. Red frowned. "What's that your saying?" The man immediately switched to Araluan, and repeated what he'd been saying. "Sirs what are you doing on the streets? You must get to safety, if you wish to stay alive. Go! Go!" he gestured wildly at them. "Hurry! Get to the Red Feather! Go! Go!" Red stared blankly at the man, then turned to Damien and shrugged. "Maybe he's crazy?" he suggested.
The strange man fairly danced with exasperation with these slow-moving foreigners. "I am one of the merchant's guild!" He said, as if by way of explanation. "O.K." Red said, trying to sound as helpful and blank as possible. "What's that have to do with a red feather and staying alive?" The man jumped up and down. "Just do as I say!" he snapped. Then he gave a puff of exasperation and hurried off, muttering something about "foolish foreigners", "waste of time", and "get themselves killed".
Red turned again to Damien. "Well, what do you think of our...odd warning? Think we should heed it or should we just keep going, back to the whats-it-called?" He suddenly turned and began walking away. "Someone's taken an interest in us." he said in a low voice. "Hurry up! We're going to be late for the party!" he said in a louder tone. Again, in a lower tone, he asked, "So what do you think we should do?"

Damien watched the exchange with an amused look on his face. Then he actually thought it through, 'Wait a second. If this guy is telling us that there is danger, we should probably heed his advice.' Looking to Red with a solemn look on his face, Damien said, "We should probably heed his advice. Something is going on here, and something is telling me that whoever has taken interest in us probably has some connection to the people who kidnapped you. We should probably head over to the Red Feather, wherever that is."

Red listened intently to Damien, while continuing to walk quickly along in a businesslike manner, and scanning his surroundings carefully. "I agree with your perspective, but there's one thing that I would like to do first, and that's get this guy off our trail. It shouldn't be to difficult." he grinned. "The hard part will be finding this Red Feather!" His expression turned solemn again as he contemplated their next move. "Now, which way do you figure it is--left, right, south, or east?"
