Damien scratched his head as he thought of of which way it is. "Eh, well it might be to the east. I'm not sure, but it might be that way. If not, we are going to have to scour this place. Or we could just ask someone where it is." replied Damien with a somewhat confused look on his face.

Red tipped his head to one side. "You think so? All right, let's head north. We don't want this guy to think that we're actually heeding that merchant-whatever-his name-is' warning, do we?" he grinned. "It's simple, really-- we just avoid the what's-it-called inn, lead him through about half the town, and then hope that he doesn't try to get wise on us." his grin changed to a kind of a grim smile. He was looking forward to giving this guy the longest wild goose-chase in known history.
"Let's get started!" With that, he turned sharply to go charging down a side street which ended in a blank wall about 10 feet high. Walls had never stopped a Ranger though-- they scaled it and dropped down on the other side. "Well, that's a start." Red commented, looking back at the wall with some satisfaction. "Now let's just make sure it doesn't get any easier on him."

As Damien scaled over the wall, he dropped down to the other side. However, unlike Red, Damien fell in an unceremonious heap. Standing up, he said, "I'm gonna feel that in the morning. Anyways, yeah that should keep him at bay for a little bit. I guess now we just take a bunch of side streets and alley ways. Right?" As Damien stood up, he dusted himself off and waited for Red to answer.

Red broke into a wide grin and nodded. "Exactly!" He led the way to the alley's exit, then paused. "You know, I think if we headed back to the quay, he'll lose track of us altogether. What do you think?"

Damien thought about that and nodded his head. "Yeah, lets do that. We'll surely lose him in the quay." Damien then started walking in the general direction of the quay.

After an hour or more of following a twisting, turning route, they at last reached the quay. Red led the way to a ship near the end, and used one of the many mooring lines to sneak aboard. Finding a hiding spot on the decks was not a problem. Neither was staying hidden-- the ships' crew's night-watch were not very alert. Red got comfortable and went to sleep.
Shortly after dawn, Red was awakened by the sounds of people shouting and fighting in the city. Looking around, he saw that the night-watch was heading below-- from the excited shouts, they were rousing the rest of the crew and Red decided then, that it was time to take their leave of the ship's hospitality. He signaled Damien, and once again, a mooring line again acted as gang-plank. Red then took to the shadows of a nearby warehouse.

Damien followed Red as the two arrived at the quay without a word. Damien was deep in thought as to what was going on in this town. 'What is going on here? First Red gets kidnapped. Second I find more and more ships from Araluen here in La Rivage. And now some person is chasing us. Something is telling me that this is all connected. Once we get to the Red Feather, I am going to have to ask some questions.' thought Damien as they reached a secluded spot on a ship. After Red went to sleep, Damien decided to stay watch and think about what was going down.
After dawn, Damien woke up with at start as he heard people shouting and fighting. 'Ah man, I wasn't supposed to fall asleep. I guess that I dozed off. Now what is going on here?' he thought as he followed Red to the warehouse. As he moved, Damien slipped a knife into his sleeve and was ready for anything. After all one can never be too careful.

As they crouched in the sheltering shadows of the warehouse, Red watched as a ship let off a few very brave--and probably very foolish-- souls along with those souls' mounts. One gestured their way and a second, a boy, came sprinting toward them and, without noticing them, started scaling the warehouse wall. "It's a wonder that he hasn't noticed Damien, what with him being right next to him!' Red marveled. Then gesturing to the boy, he whispered to Damien, "Grab him when he comes back down!"

Damien nodded his head as he waited for the boy to come back around. As he was waiting, Damien watched in amazement at the commotion. He had never seen so many people. Seeing the boy climbing down, Damien hid and waited for the boy to come back to the ground. As soon as the boy hit the ground, Damien sprang into action. Jumping from his hiding spot, Damien tackled the boy to the ground and held him there. "What is going on here boy?" asked Damien as he held the boy down. Damien, being the softy that he was, was making sure that he was not hurting the boy.
