Adrian had muttered a curse when he got into the canoe just this morning. He hated swimming, hated vast amounts of water [ie: anything bigger than a mug], and now he'd been tricked into going canoeing. He liked Ali, but his fear/hatred for water came close to tipping the scales. Too bad Sir Henry Lionheart of Caraway had stood there, with his arrogant chin thrusted up and his eyes daring his apprentice to argue. Adrian, naturally, had stepped into the canoe with nothing but the clothes on his back, the dagger in his left boot, and his sword that was always strapped to his waste. Though he hadn't understood why he needed his weapons on the open water, Sir Henry Lionheart of Caraway had insisted, and naturally, he'd taken it.
Now though, a mere five hours later, he was thankful he had. As his horrible luck would have it, he'd had the 'luck' to end up getting the boat crashed onto an unknown island in the middle of nowhere to his account. It was his luck that he'd got a splinter in his hand and dropped the paddle...just as they passed a river's entrance - a rapid river's entrance. Within seconds they'd been pulled into its stream and thrown around like flapping fish, slamming into every freakin' rock they came across. What seemed like hours, but was only a few minutes, they'd rode the monster and he now lay hurt and bruised on some gosh-forsaken island.
-----
Adrian groans at his awful luck as he recounts the events of the morning. Now it was around noon and he was wet, sore, and lying upon a pebbled beach, wishing he'd brought some food. He wonders if Ali did, since he was known as Ali the Wise, and with a groan Adrian sits up and turns to his friend.
"Did you happen to bring any food?" He asks, his throat dry and scratchy from taking in too much water.

"Did you bring water"
"Of course i did" said ali. "They dont call me wise for nothing. I have a weeks food and water for the both of us. But we still have to hunt if we want to make it last."
Ali had been exited when he had heard that Adrian would go canoeing with him. He knew the waters around this area relitivly well since he was a ranger, well a apprentice anyway. But there had been strong currents due to rain last week and the river had gotten quicker. Unfortunatle the map had gotton wet so he had no idea of where he was.
"Im going to take a look around want to join me" Ali said to his pet dog Lucky who he had saved from a fire.
"Adrian im gonig to get fire wood. Try to make some kind of fire with what you can find along the beach"

"Im going to take a look around want to join me" Ali said to his pet dog Lucky who he had saved from a fire.
Adrian stiffled a groan at his friend's words. He didn't really want to do much of anything...except maybe eat. And drink. And sleep. And then wake up and find himself back at the castle. Heck, he'd even talk to Adrian ["friend" with the same name] if that was his only ticket off here. And he hated that guy with that dumb name. So 'speaking' quite loudly, he stayed frozen where he was, telling ali he'd rather not.
Unable to even work up a good scowling, he was glad when Ali said, Adrian I'm going to get firewood. Try to make some kind of fire with what you can find along the beach."
He waited until Ali left with Lucky before rising slowly to his feet, muttering a few curses. He scanned the beach around him, saw nothing but pebbles and sand and the occasional stick. Wondering what he should do now, he eyed the canoe that was only a few feet from him - having been pushed out of the waters - and headed over to grab some food and water before grudigly heading out to collect the pieces of drift wood. He only found ten pieces since most of it was wet and thus unusable, but ten was enough to get a fire started - albeit a small one. His mission accomplised, he laid back down on the rocky sand and closed his eyes though stayed awake to make sure the fire didn't decide to die on him.

ali and lucky goes into the bush and look for fire wood. ali uses his saxe knife to cut a load of wood and brings it back to the camp.
"we need to make a shelter" ali says to adrian

Adrian very very slowly opens his eyes to Ali's words. "Can't we just find a cave?" He doubts that there is actually a cave on the island - since that'd follow his luck - but he feels he should ask anyways. It would mean walking, but he'd rather walk than build. Building requires a use of muscle that right now he doesn't have.

"sory there are no caves on this island but if we make a small shelter against the clif over there then we should be fine." "come on lucky lets go make a shelter." ali said as he picked up an axe from the site of the wreckage." ali went over to the trees and started choping down trees. after a few hours he had choped 25 trees and started carrying them to the clif. "adrian can you please help me get these logs to the clif?"

It was around night time when they managed to cut down the full amount of trees. Within a few minutes of starting the work, Adrian had grown too tired to count, instead hacking in a rythmatic session. As long as he kept going he wouldn't feel tired. His limbs were numb - set in their new habit. Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack.
He didn't even stop to wipe the sweat off his brow. Just whack. Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack.
"Adrian can you please help me get these logs to the cliff?"
Ali's voice broke his concentration and he let the axe drop to the ground. He leaned on it for a few seconds before swaggering over to help drag one of the logs. He was too tired to be happy about the fact that they'd picked trees small enough to carry. Two tired people equivaleted to one in his book and he didn't speak as they slowly made their way to the cliff.
His luck, they'd finish building it just as soon as they were rescued. Sir Henry Lionheart of Caraway would know they were missing right? The smart side of him laughed.

[oh, okay. Srry.]
"We should get all these branches off these log."
Adrian didn't even have the strength to even manage a groan. He simply got to work, thankful for Sir Henry Lionheart of Caraway's rough training. Without it, he'd never have made it off the shore. He set to work, breaking off the twigs on some, cutting off the thicker ones. After doing a few, an idea popped into his head.
"Hey," he said, turning warily to Ali. "Can't we just leave them on there? You know, use them as a kind of extra leverage against the wind? If we weave them together they've got to stay connected better right?"
Anything to get out of more hacking and sawing. He was so tired and his luck, he'd fall on his blade or something and die. He shuddered at the thought, and then moaned when he actually looked at the blade. No wonder it was taking freakin' forever. The blade was dull as rice. He'd have to sharpen it and that could take hours. Probably days actually considering he had no idea how to go about actually doing that without the right equipment - he'd left that back on the actual continent.
He muttered a few curses beneath his breath as he waited for Ali's answer.

"that could work, but it will work better if we get the branches off then tie them around the branches like rope at the top and bottom then fill the cracks with mud. your knife looks dull why dont you use my throwing knife and i can sharpen your knife later." Ali says holding out his knife to Adrian

Adrian groaned and reluctanty took the knife before getting back to work. Once the sun started to set though he dropped the blade and collapsed to his knees. He crawled beneath the smallish leanto and fell fast asleep.

once the new shelter was built ali sharpened the dull knife and puts it to the side so Adrian can get it when he wants and took back his knife from where Adrian had left it. then he goes to sleep and waits for the morning.

the next morning ali woke up to the sound of lucky digging and went to see what he found. it was a chest half burried in the ground. "what did you find boy?" ali says to lucky. he opened the chest and didn't know what it was in the chest. "hey Adrian come over here and try to tell me what is in this chest.
